This is an open letter to the Powder Manufacturers.

A number of powders have been out of stock for an unacceptable period of time. Some popular IMR powders like 4895, 7828, have been unavailable approaching six months others like
( I am told) 4955 even longer.

What is going on? If you look for instance at Powder Valley and sort on IMR powders you will find most are out of stock. Is Hodgeon Powder Company purposely not manufacturing these in favor of their own? Well Hodgeon they aren’t the same!!

Assuming I am wrong in my insinuation, Hodgeon should make a public statement in the various discipline publications; stating the reason for their delay and a timetable for reintroduction of these important powders

I am looking for a bipod

I have a Savage bench rest that is more than thirty years old. In the past I have always used a machine rest but now i want to put a bipod on it. Problem is no one in the gun sales business including Savage can tell me which one. On the bottom of the forearm in has a slot, the length of the forearm where it would go. I have been told a need an adapter to go from this slot to a pick rail. If anyone knows how to put a bibod on this reifle I would be grateful for any help you can provide.

Honestly a little surprised this one is getting caught up in the streamlining but I rarely shoot it and prefer the ergonomics of a more traditional tactical stock. The entire package includes the following:

AI Case with foam cutout, the foam isn't exactly a perfect fit and I have had to do some trimming, but it works.

The rifle will ship with the case, I don't need it but the buyer will. I am willing to sell barrels and bolt bodies separately if and only if the gun sells first and the buyer only wants some of the bolts/barrels. Then the remainder can be sold.

Which generation's fault?

Thought that this deserved its own thread. Peak boomer here. Historically, republics seem to devolve to oligarchies in 300 years or so--typically due to bankers. So, here we are. Early financialization of the 70s culminated in the repeal of Glass-Steagall under Clinton. Financialization took off like a house afire after that. We have the best government money can buy.

As far as who voted for whom? It probably doesn't matter. We went from a pro-business Republican party and a pro-worker Democratic party in general balance to a pro-money, pro-war uniparty. Rather than watching where the money goes, we allowed ourselves to be distracted by black vs white, straight vs gay, pro-abortion vs pro-life.

There are two functions of government: tax/spend and sanctioned violence. They will not be denied.

Steiner H6xi

I know these haven’t really been out long enough for there to be much info on them yet or any real reviews but I’m interested in one as it seems to check alot of boxes for me as a do it all hunting scope. So what I’m interested in is how does Steiner typically stack up against the other big names in the optics world such as Nightforce, Zeiss, Trijicon, Leupold etc. mostly concerned with durability, holding/return to zero, tracking and to a lesser extent, glass quality.

Legitimate Civil War (1861-1865) Question

I live in an area where there was supposed to be a Union corral during the Civil War. Nobody has ever located the actual site of the corral, or if they have it has never been publicized. I have bought several books through the years with maps and such, but can’t seem to find any information that points to a location for this corral. This would have been in Tennessee. Does anyone know of any collections of obscure maps? The thought is that this is somewhere on private property. There are still some pretty large tracts of undeveloped land in the area that might be potential locations, literally 10,000+ acres.

Dear LabRadar ... you have a problem, and it's name is "Garmin". The best way to solve that problem is to get your new LabRadar LX into the hands of as many people as possible, just as quickly as possible, even if it means "buying" a little market share. The LX looks like an interesting hybrid device, but it's late to market, and carries some significant baggage left over from the old LabRadar (buggy phone app, bulky form-factor, trigger and battery issues, etc.). Getting people like the readers on this forum to get one and start talking positively about it, is your best and only hope for retaining at least some significant percentage of your market share. The Garmin is (a) feature rich, (b) very flexible, (c) reasonably priced, and most importantly ... (d) available.

You need to make a bold move now, or you're going to be crushed by the bull-dozer that says "Garmin" on the license plate. By the time the LX ships and is in a position to gain some momentum, this race will be over, and you'll never catch up.

Here is my suggestion: While the final version is waiting to ship ... and for ~90 days thereafter, offer a "Trade-In/Trade-Up" special to existing LabRadar owners, and allow them to pre-order / purchase the new LX with a "Rebate" program. Sell the LX at the standard price, and between now and, say, June 1st, that sale comes with a rebate coupon where once your new LX arrives, you send in the coupon with proof of LX purchase, and your old LabRadar, and get a rebate check for (I'm suggesting) $150. If you did this, you'd get the LX into the hands of literally thousands of existing LabRadar owners, you'd "freeze" at least some percentage of the Garmin target audience, and give yourself time to catch up.

Or you can do nothing, and allow the Garmin Xero to literally "steal" your target market. Choose wisely, your next steps. If all you do is finish the LX and put it out there for normal sales ... you're gonna get creamed. (Don't say we didn't warn you.)

I went into the AT&T / Sprint store where I bought my Android phone because it has a cracked screen and will no longer light up. The young lady tech asked to see my ID to verify who I was to see if I had insurance. No big deal.

Meanwhile, this piece of excrement that was found in Biden's diaper and whom he made into his Attorney Gen., says voter ID's are "Discriminatory, burdensome and unnecessary."

IOW, whats the whole point of flooding the country with illegal aliens if they can't vote, amiright?

Apple Fined At Least $1.95 Billion for Blocking Music Streaming Customers From Getting Cheapest Deal



March 4 (UPI) — The European Union fined Apple at least $1.95 billion on Monday for exploiting its market position to illegally block music subscription providers directing App Store users toward cheaper prices for the same subscription elsewhere.
The fine was imposed after an anti-trust investigation found Apple had “anti-steering provisions” in place preventing streaming services from telling owners of iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad about other services, the European Commission said in a news release.
“For a decade, Apple abused its dominant position in the market for the distribution of music streaming apps through the App Store. They did so by restricting developers from informing consumers about alternative, cheaper music services available outside of the Apple ecosystem. This is illegal under EU antitrust rules,” said competition executive vice-president Margrethe Vestager.
The anti-steering rules also banned developers from telling users about price differences between in-app subscriptions sold through Apple’s in-app purchase mechanism and those available elsewhere or providing links to their website where they could subscribe directly.
Developers were also prevented from contacting their own newly signed-up customers by email or other channels to inform them about alternative pricing options, the commission said.
Apple’s rules, which the commission said were unnecessary and disproportionate to the threat to its commercial interests, “negatively affect the interests of iOS users, who cannot make informed and effective decisions on where and how to purchase music streaming subscriptions for use on their device.”
“Apple’s conduct, which lasted for almost 10 years, may have led many iOS users to pay significantly higher prices for music streaming subscriptions because of the high commission fee imposed by Apple on developers and passed on to consumers in the form of higher subscription prices for the same service on the Apple App Store,” the commission said.
Anti-steering also inflicted a non-monetary “degrading” of the iOS user experience, forcing consumers to undertake “cumbersome” searches to track down offers outside the App Store, or denying them the chance to subscribe to any service due to being unable to find the right one on their own.
Apple responded by rebuking the commission for a decision it said was reached without “any credible evidence of consumer harm” and ignored the “realities of a market that is thriving, competitive, and growing fast” and accused regulators of favoring its European rival, Spotify, saying the Swedish company met with the commission 65 times during the investigation.
“The primary advocate for this decision — and the biggest beneficiary — is Spotify,” Apple, said in a statement in which it claimed Spotify had paid it nothing for services that had helped it capture 56% of Europe’s streaming market and make it one of the most recognizable global brands.
“A large part of their success is due to the App Store, along with all the tools and technology that Spotify uses to build, update, and share their app with Apple users around the world.”
In January, Spotify announced it would be allowed to offer in-app sales on iPhones and iPads starting in March after Apple was forced to allow it under European Union regulations.
The changes under the EU’s Digital Markets Act will enable Spotify customers to “seamlessly” purchase and upgrade subscriptions along with audiobooks and other products within the Spotify app.
Previously, transactions were only permitted via the App Store, where Apple took a 30% cut.
In addition, Spotify said it would be able to provide details of subscription and audiobook prices, previously also blocked from appearing within the app.
The commission argued that by only allowing developers to distribute their apps to iOS users in the European Economic Area via the App Store, Apple controlled every aspect of the iOS user experience and set the terms and conditions with which developers must comply in order to get access to European iOS users.

So I've already had the Mk5HD 7-35 with an H59, just sold it because I wanted to try a PR2 in FDE. Silly reason maybe...but it's my money and I'll do what I want.
Also have had two Gen3 Razors as well. Traded the 1st one for a Ziess LRP S3 6-36x and Traded the 2nd for a Element THEOS 6-36. I'm happy with both trades but am still considering the Gen3 Razor now that EuroOptic has a Black option. I truely hate Vortex Purple with a burning passion.

So, since I've already had both optics...I'm probably gonna be happy with either one, considering they are about the same price.
Do I wait to snag a used one?

Text of Lincoln's Speech​

Delivered at Washington, D. C. March 4, 1865
Fellow-countrymen: At this second appearing to take the oath of the presidential office, there is less occasion for an extended address than there was at the first. Then a statement, somewhat in detail, of a course to be pursued, seemed fitting and proper. Now, at the expiration of four years, during which public declarations have been constantly called forth on every point and phase of the great contest which still absorbs the attention and engrosses the energies of the nation, little that is new could be presented. The progress of our arms, upon which all else chiefly depends, is as well known to the public as to myself; and it is, I trust, reasonably satisfactory and encouraging to all. With high hope for the future, no prediction in regard to it is ventured.

On the occasion corresponding to this four years ago, all thoughts were anxiously directed to an impending civil war. All dreaded it—all sought to avert it. While the inaugural address was being delivered from this place, devoted altogether to saving the Union without war, insurgent agents were in the city seeking to destroy it without war—seeking to dissolve the Union, and divide effects, by negotiation. Both parties deprecated war; but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive; and the other would accept war rather than let it perish. And the war came.

One-eighth of the whole population were colored slaves, not distributed generally over the Union, but localized in the Southern part of it. These slaves constituted a peculiar and powerful interest. All knew that this interest was, somehow, the cause of the war. To strengthen, perpetuate, and extend this interest was the object for which the insurgents would rend the Union, even by war; while the government claimed no right to do more than to restrict the territorial enlargement of it.

Neither party expected for the war the magnitude or the duration which it has already attained. Neither anticipated that the cause of the conflict might cease with, or even before, the conflict itself should cease. Each looked for an easier triumph, and a result less fundamental and astounding. Both read the same Bible, and pray to the same God; and each invokes his aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces; but let us judge not, that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered—that of neither has been answered fully.

The Almighty has his own purposes. "Woe unto the world because of offenses! for it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh." If we shall suppose that American slavery is one of those offenses which, in the providence of God, must needs come, but which, having continued through his appointed time, he now wills to remove, and that he gives to both North and South this terrible war, as the woe due to those by whom the offense came, shall we discern therein any departure from those divine attributes which the believers in a living God always ascribe to him? Fondly do we hope—fervently do we pray—that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondman's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said, "The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether."

With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation's wounds; to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan—to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves, and with all nations.

SCOTUS Rules 9-0 to Allow Trump to stay on Colo. Ballot

Apparently, they have reversed the decision of the Colo. Supreme Ct..

Interesting, especially for what it means for the other states that dropped him from the ballot.

Not that it mattered, really (in re: Colo.), as Pres. Trump's name had been printed on the ballot anyway.

We'll see what happens.
