Suppressors Rooftop Defense: non-autistic suppressor reviews (no dB)

So I happened upon Rooftop Defense, the name of which I assume is a play on “rooftop Korean” as the fellow looks Asian.

He is doing suppressor evaluations that do not include any dB numbers (thank the gods). And he doesn’t talk too much and appears not high on pre-workout, unlike a certain Pew guy.

He f/a fires 100 rounds through them, shoots different ammo, shoots in the dark and shoots right at the camera for a section about flash suppression, etc. Uses a M249 to test back pressure. Ingenious. I like it.

He looks at the KAC and RC3 etc in other vids. He states he uses only brand new cans.

I noticed in his 3D printed can reviews that there is some sparks and flame at the end of the 100rd burst. I assume that’s because 3D cans have bits of metal in them left over from production, and that’s what is catching on fire (not the can itself). I assume NBD.

Anyway, I finally found a channel that reviews cans in some sort of non-autistic way (lol) AND the tests seem well done/meaningful.

Optics Optics Clear Out

Recently made the mistake of looking through some super Gucci Leica LRF binos so going to liquidate some of my optics to help ease the pain of picking them up.

Next is a sig Kilo 2200 LRF. Have the case for this guy, glass looks to be free of scratches, recently put a new battery in it, walked outside and ranged a house across the way at 1040.

Civil rights lawyer arrested at public meeting for stating the law

Aransas Tx passed a law the one cannot criticize public officials .
And the Mayor ordered little piggies to arrest them for violating the new “Law” and the piggy’s jumped to comply .

It’s almost funny- it’s become so obvious just what “law enforcement “ is for . Hope those murder apes are proud of themselves.

Crime in this shit hole had better be at 0 before they can justify arresting some one for saying shit or questioning the town council.

Barrel damage likelihood from titanium powder?

Looking for some insight. If someone were to “theoretically” fire 13 rounds of .338 lapua through an MRAD barrel that had unknowingly become fouled with a significant amount (think a teaspoon or more, deposited/recirculated throughout the string of fire) of what I’m assuming is titanium powder, how much damage would be done?
Thanks in advance.

Angles and Wind Reading in Long-Range Shooting

Dissecting the Wind

In the realm of long-range shooting, mastering the art of wind reading is the key to increasing hit percentage. While determining range has become more accessible through the advancement of technology capable of providing a detailed range with lasers, wind remains the low-hanging fruit of uncertainty. The uncertainty of wind significantly influences the trajectory and impact accuracy of a bullet, and understanding its effects is crucial for marksmen seeking to maintain their accuracy and precision at a distance.

General considerations:

Effect on Bullet Path: The wind has a predictable influence on a bullet’s trajectory. As the bullet moves downrange, the influence becomes more pronounced, with longer distances amplifying the effect. With wind the bullets impact moves down wind from a no wind point of aim.

So, who got unemployed today? 2024 Edition

I keep reading about the economic repercussions of the money printer, the soft landing while also reading about lots of jobs going unfilled.

I exist in a vacuum and have distilled my network down to a select few high value individuals.

So far I’ve not had a single friend lose their job but several have jumped ship for more money and better lifestyle.

Figured I’d ask here.

What’s REALLY going on out there? Are you getting fired or promoted? What’s the job market like out there.

If you have made a Religious or Sporting Goods Purchase you are now on a list.

According to information released by the House Judiciary Committee .gov... If you have made a sporting goods purchase, or shopped at a sporting goods store, or made a Religious related purchase you are now on a watch list. https://judiciary.house.gov/media/i...-banks-search-private-transactions-terms-maga

"instructs financial institutions to query for transactions using certain MCC codes like "3484: Small Arms," "5091: Sporting and Recreational Goods and Supplies," and the keywords "Cabela’s" and "Dick’s Sporting Goods," "Bass Pro Shops," among others."

"or ‘the purchase of books (including religious texts)"

Accessories Garmin Xero C1 Screen Protectors

I have several Garmin Xero C1 Pro screen protectors for sale that are precision cut using a CNC cutter. I made my own since none existed, didn't want my Garmin enclosed like a plastic tank and figured I'd offer them to the community. I also ok'd this post with @Lowlight to be sure it was ok here due to quantity.

These protectors are made of a heavy-duty 3M self healing TPU (same stuff used on cars for PPF - 8mils) and fully cover the entire screen including the black bezel edge to edge. Once installed it's very hard to notice, these are glossy so could have some increased glare but seems comparable to the stock screen to me.

Note:
The film from 3M comes with a barely noticeable haze (during their manufacturing) that is noticeable around the black bezel but you can't see it over the screen or with the screen on. If you're OCD like me and want it to be glass clear even over the bezel, use a very small amount of plastic polish or car buffing compound (light abrasiveness) before install.

Pricing:
Single protector - $14.99 shipped CONUS w/ tracking
Two Pack (recommended) - $24.99 shipped CONUS w/ tracking

The below images show the screen protector installed on my Garmin and a few pictures for reference. I recommend the two pack in case you mess one up or get fingerprints on the underside.

Install Instructions:
Read these carefully to properly install, not responsible for poor application or incorrect installation.

  1. Make sure the screen is absolutely clean with a microfiber & screen safe cleaner, any contaminants will show easily if not cleaned well.
  2. Do not touch the back of the protector, it is adhesive and will leave fingerprints.
  3. Use clear tape (scotch etc.) or blue tape on the front side of the protector on the side edges. The side without the 3M paper backing, this helps to avoid fingerprints.
  4. Remove backing
    • For Wet Install (Skip for dry install): Use a small spray bottle to spray a very small amount of water (fine mist) or a mix of water/alcohol that is AR coating safe on the sticky side of the protector.
  5. Align the top edge or bottom edge first and notches first then lay across screen. I think top down is easiest.
    • It can be lifted back up carefully if not fully laid down to get the alignment perfect before doing so.
  6. Gently push out the air bubbles with light pressure towards the sides of the film using your finger and microfiber. Once this is done it can no longer be lifted and re-used.
  7. Let sit for at least 5-10mins and clean front of protector gently with a damp cloth.

PVA - Missing In Action?

Does anyone know if they are still in business? I ordered some 200 241gr solids a little over 3 months ago and still waiting. I called a couple of times and left a message, and also sent an email almost 2 weeks ago and haven't received a response from them. I ended up putting in a claim on my CC. But in reality, I need that order.
