New rifle case for ATX with folder? Triad/AIM

Looking for feedback, etc. reference a new rifle case for the ATX with folder. Getting a longer barrel/different caliber spun up which means it won't fit into what I currently have. 26" with 419 HFM, be right at 41 +/- 1/2"
I do know the AIM has two versions, I would use the "right side" folding version of course. The Triad while not intended for a folder appears it can accommodate one, especially the right side folder. Plus the Triad is US made.

Anyhow--Anyone have the Triad version and can comment? Or have other ideas-no hard cases. Just a simple case that I will have and last.

Night Vision NVGs to APO Address?

I'm currently deployed overseas and am interested in purchasing a FP laser and NVG combo that I can test and train with while here. I know that both the items I'm looking to purchase are ITAR restricted, and while this is likely a stupid question, is it possible to ship these items to the APO address for where I am?

I am not looking to get around the rules, I am just wondering if there is a military exemption for circumstances like mine and if there's some kind of supporting documentation I should have if I was going to proceed with purchase/shipment. I've tried doing some reading on ITAR but haven't been able to decipher if exemptions exist for my scenario. I know there's some ITAR savvy folks here so hoping I can get pointed in the right direction!

Best ballistic calculator currently?

I have StrelokPro but since its ban looking to switch to whatever is the best go to now. My StrelokPro still works but I assume at some point it wont

What’s the “go to” easiest to use currently?

I downloaded the hornady app but seeing what else I should consider. Not shooting prs so a paired system with a kestrel isn’t really needed. Something similar to StrelokPro is what I’m after

Currently I use

Leica 2800
StrelokPro
Kestrel 3500

Help reading the tea leaves, er, targets

At least it feels the same kind of witchcraft as reading tea leaves. Unsure the degree to which it's possible but I'm looking for help reading the targets and determining most likely points of error in my shooting. I'm struggling to shoot consistent groups and to rein in the flyers.

I seem be able to put 2-3 on or near one another, then the remainder are usually either high but about on horizontally, or high and right. From time to time get one or two a bit left.

To build the position, I lay down directly behind the rifle so that the centerline of the rifle is about directly under my left eye. Place firing hand in the grip of the stock, lift the rifle up (no grip/squeeze) and bring the butt downwards into the shoulder while setting the rear bag. Adjust the bag fore and aft to achieve desired POI (smaller adjustment, macro already achieved with bipod height).

The last target I shot with firing hand further down the grip and trigger finger really low on the trigger, basically brushing the trigger guard. This seems to have improved the on-target result some.

On the fliers, when the shot breaks, I can't tell what's going on. Like I don't observe the reticle on the target where the bullet impacts. With a pistol I immediately can tell when/why I shanked one, but here, they feel good.

The targets:
All shot at 100 yards
Dots are IIRC 5/8", pasters from a Shoot N See
5 shots
Prone off a mat
Each group I completely reset position.
Pictures ordered first to last

Rifle & Gear:
Tikka T3X CTR .223, Left Hand
Mathews Fab adjustable cheek riser
ARC M-Brace high
Burris XTR 5.5 - 30 SCR2 MIL
Accu-Tac PC5 w/Caldwell sling stud to pic rail adapter
Taylor was Here rear bag
Norma Golden Target GTX 69gr

Any insight would be really appreciated.

PCP reliability and accuracy/precision

Alright, so I messed up and poked my nose into the PCP world. Watched a few videos and saw guys cutting single hole type groups at 50 yards with .22/.25 caliber PCP rifles. Quiet, CHEAP to run lead down the barrel (not so much initial setup, but pay to play and all that).

I very much enjoy reloading, I get to control my fps deviations that way, I know my rounds are good to go, so anything I see besides tight groups is me being a dumbass behind the trigger. I have a couple of rifles that are proofed and I've done the work and reloading to get them down to 1/8th to 1/4" groups at 100 yards IF I'm not a shaky mess that particular day. I have a Winchester 52C and a Rem 40-X in .22LR that absolutely highlight my shortcomings, however finding the green box Remington subsonic LRN those rifles like is getting tough. I have plenty of resources but my time anymore is worth the most.

So, back to the PCP rifles. I've seen quite a few vids where the 600/700mm barreled rifles are just stacking them at 50 yards. Watching the chrono that's often in a picture-in-picture in these videos I can see that the FPS numbers are quite often single-digit deviation(s) and that makes me yearn for that kind of consistency. Y'all know how much it costs, money and time, to buy top-slot brass, good bullets, good powder(if you can find the type you use) and primers and then all the fiddly work to get "identical" brass as a base(trimming, weighing, volume measurements...etc). Compared to buying 15 different tins of pellets and finding the weight/skirt combo that works and then stocking up them at 500 rounds for 25 bucks, it's obvious which route will garner the most trigger time vs. time invested in prepping. I'm not even going to sniff slugs at this point, I will likely eventually do so.

I have read that some of the older (2023-ish) FX rifles are prone to losing POI if handled with anything but the gentlest of intentions. I can hack that, hardcase and bench is about all the rifle would ever see anyway. My concern is longevity in a nutshell. Once I get rolling I can happily sit and punch 20 or 30 5 shot groups before I need to put a fresh target up, and I tend to shoot for 3 hours at a stretch. Hundreds of rounds, I have a wickedly active mind, being able to feed it one task for a long stretch of time is cathartic and shooting (and reloading) are great for that. I leave the range in a relaxed and awesome mood, even if I shot like crap.

Congrats if you've made it this far. Now the question.

I really (think) I like the FX DRS Tactical. 600/700 mm, the 700 has the "heavy" barrel and will play better with slugs, so more opportunity to screw around with options there. I have oodles of AR bits and pieces laying around, all my scopes are pic rail set ups (one T-36 on dovetail, but that's a vintage rifle) and I like ARs. From what I've seen that DRS is fully capable of tight groups, consistent FPS and has a huge HUGE aftermarket in that most anything AR will be compatible. I'm a little worried that the videos and articles I've read are maybe skewing the results some in that the people demoing these rifles know more than I about PCP setups and have tweaked the rifles with their mastery of the sport and I'm going to be sorely disappointed when I send lead downrange (50/100 yards). Will I wear it out and begin to hate o-rings and be chasing leaks? Is there another rifle out there that has a built-in aftermarket like the DRS Tac? Oh, I'm a lefty too, a dirty, dirty lefty. I can cope, have been for 50+ years but it's worth mentioning.

You might be a redneck if...

Met up with a (woman) friend, her (woman) friend and kids last night for live music and fireworks show. I'm about 2 minutes away and she texts me, "can you bring a blanket and/or chairs or did you leave already?". Well I certainly didn't bring any blankets --honestly I figured the women would 😂

I thought about it a minute and said, not to worry, I got just the ticket here right with me, I do.

Now I didn't have a blanket, specific, but I did have a MidwayUSA deluxe competition shooting mat and a folding chair! I get to the spot, unroll that mat, she takes a sit, moves around a little and says "ooh this is nice!"

Hey, only the best for you !!
