jsesurplus.com has 24" Wilson barrels. They are 1/8 twist 556 wylde chamber. IIRC Wilson makes the RRA barrels. RRA sells the 24" gun with a 1 MOA guarantee. My wilson does this easily and so do the few that I've seen buddies build. At 205 for a barrel it's a steal.
Re: Scope for AR15 100-800 yards Just a generalization of a prior poster saying 34mm being more expensive than 30mm rings. I haven't priced out many 34mm sets so just gave a broad number.
Re: Scope for AR15 100-800 yards Yeah FFP isn't a need. Just if I'm gonna spend that much coin, I wanna be setup as good as possible. The gun isn't a Grendel. It's a 223 Wylde chamber. Barrel is a Wilson stainless match 1/8 that loves the 75/77 pills. The sightron scope is interesting. Ill...
As title states, Use will be 100-800 steel/paper target shooting with an AR15 24" 1/8 twist Wilson Stainless Match. Currently, the scope is a 4-16x42 Nikon Monarch SF Mildot with MOA turrets. It's SFP. The current setup works good out to 400 but after that the scope is just really out of its...

Re: What does a $1k plus scope get me over $300 NIKON You can get a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 with side focus and mil-dot reticle for around 450. It's what I have and a great scope. It's not a NF or similar but it's a great starter scope.
I had built a "precision" upper a couple years back. It has a Wilson SS 1/8 match barrel that's right around 16" long YHM FF rail, upper that was trued on lathe. It shoots 1/2 moa with the hornady 75 bthp but loses velocity fast. It's still a great shooter at 600 yards but goes a bit crazy much...
Re: Red Jacket I know a guy that just purchased a gun from red jacket. He loves their show. It took all I had not to laugh. I can't wait to put it through its paces!
Re: Just picked up my M&P9 Mine was horribly stiff when it was new but after a few mags it lightened up to where it needs to be. Shoot 50 then report back.

Re: who would be up for a match in central Missouri Hmmmmmm I bet I can make this. I haven't been involved in shooting at all lately with life getting in the way. Keep us posted.
Re: When do you carry? I carry a few times a week usually. I have my airweight 38 appendix carry, have 1 I keep in my Explorer. I'm full time college until December so I can't risk getting caught. I live in a real quiet town of about 12,000 and I guess it just doesn't seem likely to need...
Re: overgassed effect on accuracy ? I'd vote no. It will effect the speed of your followup shots but I can't possibly see how it would effect accuracy.

Re: How little recoil from a braked .243 AR-10 I have shot one that probably weighed 13-15lbs and had the gas turned waaaaay down. I'd say it kicked equal or less than my lightweight target ar15.
