We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
That sounds like a plan. Thank you so much! I've already shot a .175 3 shot 100 yd. group (my lowest for the day using 70 grn Bergers) with the 27 grain load from a cold barrel while testing bullet seating depths. Interestingly all 8 groups for the day of bullet seating testing were fired...
Yes. The last one. So maybe I guessed kind of right on which loads to test? I'm thinking somewhere between 27 and 27.3 might be a good place to experiment with. Thanks!
Savage A3 .223 Imp First time attempting this method for finding a node. It appears to me I may have something helpful here, I just need some input from someone more experienced. Thanks!
They're all fun aren't they? Cell phone pic. This bolt gun is fun because while I'm nowhere near a gunsmith, I was able to put it together myself (except for the bottom metal which was done by Jeff at CDI). It is light recoiling and shoots as well as a custom and something about that just brings...
Don't worry so much what people on this forum think. That's a recipe for disaster! This will not likely be your last rifle anyways and you will surround it with other rifles that you will love in different ways, kind of like your kids (!). Savages have their own kind of cool in hanging with...
Never tried it but I like the idea. Why not try something different? There are a few bullets out there that can be tried. If you run out of options before you find something that shoots good, that is where things might get a little tight. It would be cool to see someone shooting well with...
I can't find the article now but I believe the 280 AI/Nosler AI "headspace issues" turned out to be a myth. There is some pretty fair research if you put in the time and don't just rely on one source. That being said, I don't have either one so I could be wrong. Here's one interesting read on...
I see you can steal people's pin numbers off key pads with these. I have altered my method of entering my pin so all the keys will light up if someone tries that with me. Amazing tech.
I'm another one that thinks the Model 70 action is vastly superior to the popular push feed actions like Remington and Savage. It is robust as hell and I also like that you can't really short-stroke the action as long as it spits out a case you are gtg.
Hey you're in the right place! I doubt everyone who comes off as nasty on this site are as bad as they make out. It seems to me a lot of it probably has to do with folks trying to impress or follow along with the site owner. I could be wrong... I wonder if T-Rex had a site if the...
You can learn a lot from SH and Rex. I prefer Rex because he comes off as just a smart, honest guy who isn't frustrated at the world. SH on the other hand, not so much.
I have one on a Savage .223 AI. It seems like a great scope for this rifle. Solid tracking and nice crisp turrets. Glass? Works for me. I have used this scope to shoot steel out to 1000 yards (on a different rifle) no problems. Seems glass is a much hotter topic on this forum than it used...
You might want to give us a little more info on that. Does Boltfluter have any? I'm working my way this direction and will definitely keep this thread in mind!
