    What to look for

All matching will have the last two numbers of the serial number on all major parts. All markings will be intact. Early WWII rifles will be code marked as to who made it. There were several manufactures during WWII. Some late war "last ditch" rifles are suspect to shoot. They were made in...

    Pedersen Device?

I have a Mark I with the correct trigger. I don't have the cut off. I found the trigger at a gunshow many years ago. Mine was slightly sporterized by replacing the front sight with a ramp. It also had a commercial stock when I bought it. It is in a scant stock now. One of these days I'll find...

    Firearms Appraisal Suggestions

There are several ways. 1) the various books out there, like the Blue Book of Gun Values 2) The online action sites in the already sold section. Not what they are currently asking in an action. 3) a good dealer that will tell you what he would sell it for. That would not be what he would buy it...

Help me find this peep sight for an old Remington

Just so you know, there are two versions of this sight. The 41P and the 341P. The only real differance is the 341P sight setts back a little further so the bolt can be removed without undoing the sight. Don't know if Numrich separates these or just sells the one they grab out of a bin.

I can't remember were the B safety is The PreA and A are on the left side, back where the Crack of doom can be found. The safety on the C, D, and E, is on the right side. I have an early PreA slow Lock, 2 C's and a D. Don't have a PreA speed lock, A or B model.

    cmp win 52

Sorry, not true. They use a differenta bolt and safety than the Pre-A rifles. The safety causes the crack of doom. These rifles are safe to shoot as on lug is still good enough to hold the bolt. It had nothing to do with being too hard of steel. The safety put too much stress on the receiver...

Trying different ammo brands; do you have to clean the barrel?

Do this all the time. We even buy the small clays that are half the size of normal Trap clays. All shots are at a little over 100 as the backstop is after the 100 yrd mark. As for cleaning barrel, it is better to clean even between say Edge and 10X, as they use different lubes. Even SK and...

    cmp win 52

These are 52C's & D's. You would need to find bolts and triggers for those models. As said above, there are not many available. I was lucky as I had a bolt long before the barreled actions became available. I found a trigger on gun broker for the C model. There are two triggers for these. The D...

    40x advise?

Getting the parts shouldn't be a problem. Outback gun parts has most of them. Is it a 40X or 40XB? That will determine what safety you will need. PT&G might have a bolt left. Other than that, you will have to check the auction sites. There have been a couple of people who have did conversions...

    Kidd barrel and suppressor problems

Length of thread is not the problem. Diameter, pitch, or depth of thread is were the problem is. You will need a thread pitch gauge, and calipers to check these specs. The Thread protector size is of no importance as those threads fit both barrels but could be cut larger.
