Re: Leupold Firedot Flare Question I have a VX-R Patrol with the TMR reticle. I get a bit of a flare on the highest 3 or 4 settings (depending on lighting conditions) but frankly, I've never needed the illumination set that high. I don't notice it on any of the lower settings.
Re: Leupold VX-R Patrol excitement? Why? To each his own but for me, zero stop and a little more adjustment aren't worth an additional $600. I haven't compared the glass side by side. Maybe there's $600 in the NF glass quality but I doubt it.

Re: Rfile build IMHO, a Rem 700 SPS Tactical would be a good starter. It's a no frills rifle that won't have you spending money on features that you might change anyway. As far as stocks go, get your hands on as many different types as you can and find the one that is most comfortable for...
Re: New Leupold 3-9x40 VX-R Patrol Ok guys, I'm back from RCSC. This little Leupold performed flawlessly. We were looking at 12" gongs at 1000yds and could see them clearly...even with significant heat shimmering. The scope tracked beautifully from 400 to 950. Using a 20 MOA base I topped...

Re: New Leupold 3-9x40 VX-R Patrol Thanks for the feedback guys. Like Northland said, we're gonna be putting it through it's paces this coming weekend. I'll do a follow-up review but if you have any specific questions please ask. I'll do my best to answer them.

Re: New Leupold 3-9x40 VX-R Patrol Thanks Mark! I have it on a Rem 700P in a B&C Medalist stock. I'll post pics tonight. First impression out of the box is that this scope is rock solid (Which is to be expected from Leupold.). The parallax adjustment on the rear eye piece was extremely...
