My brother and I did a search and could not come up with the twist for this. I believe it is 1/9, but I am not sure.
Please help me out here, and if you have some load data for the heavier projos, I would love to see 'em.
Thanks,
david
Has anyone tried using small pistol primers in 223 subsonic loads. I know they are not as heavey duty as the rifle primers and can't take the high pressure loads. But just wondering if they would work in sub sonic loads.
While I was loading some 68gr Hornady BTHPs yesterday I noticed that every bullet had an indentation ring on the ogive about 1/3 of the way from the meplat. Did I do something wrong with setting up the die? I did set up the die like the instructions said with turning it all the way down on an...
Got to the range yesterday to put some more test loads thru the rifle! The first load was 23.5gr of IMR4064 in Lake City brass with Wolf Primers and topped off with a Hornady 60gr Vmax. The second load was ditto except for the powder charge was increased to 24.8gr. Happy with both loads, hard...
Anyone got any good data for this set up? H335, Hornady 68 grain BTHP. I'll be shooting them out of my 24" sabre upper.
My Hornady book is always on the low side, but I know I cant make the loads near as hot as I do for my bolt gun.
Thanks in advance.
Well....the wind was much calmer today so I took a bunch of my latest reloads out and shot Five, 5 shot groups at 100yrds. I am pretty happy with them. Not going to change anything at this time.
Here is what I ended up:
Black Hills "red box" fired brass FL sized (I have two AR's and like to...
Looking for some advice/starting point for a hunting load in my AR
I want to shoot the 75 gr. Swift Scirroco bullets in my AR for southern Whitetails......I know that i need to stick to factory seating depths for the mags but that's about all i know.
My rig is a custom upper, 20" walther 1-8...
I know "cheap" is relative anymore, but I need to make up a buttload of 55 or 62gr close range training rounds. They don't need to be "precision" capable, just good enough to hit a head at 100 yards.
I would rather not spend the cash on SMK's and I can't seem to find anyone with military...
Hi gang.
Ok...a few more questions from the newbie reloading. I followed the advice of the last few of you who gave me some input and now have a few more questions.
Ok...I have been working on a load for my .223 bolt gun (Tikka T3 Lite 1:8 barrel). I use it for coyote hunting with some paper...
So pretty much everything from Hodgegon is impossible go get. H335, H4350, Varget, H4891...all impossible to get. RL-15, impossible to get. So what makes a decent ACCURATE .223 Load thats available? Anything from Ramshot? VihtaVuori?
I just finished building a heavy barrel XCR in .223. The gun has a Magpul CTR stock, the new enhanced trigger group, 16 inch heavy barrel topped off with an IOR 2-12.
In preparation for a training we are hosting I have been running through all the drills with this gun with our practice ammo...
I was looking to get some RL15 but can't find the stuff and was wondering how the N150 was working as an alternative?
The .223AI will be fed 75gr AMAX's exclusively outside of fire forming loans.
I have posted this question on a couple of other forums, but I haven't gotten any answers. I'm looking to load either a 70 grain hornady A-max or the 70 gr barnes TSX. I can seat the A-max deep enough to fit in the magazine but there is a tiny gap between the ogive area of the bullet and the...
Anyone use cci 450 primers in the 223 AI or is this primer too hot for the 223? I have quite a few on hand, but am running low on cci 400 and fed 205. Since the 450's are hotter, would I need to load down on the powder charge? Thanks in advance. Just trying to make due with what I've got and...
Ok...I found a load my .223 bolt gun likes. Still does not shoot as well as factory Black Hills ammo but better then my last few loads.
Here is what I have:
Black Hills fired brass trimmed and FL sized.
24.5 of TAC
Hornady 50gr Vmax
CCI small rifle primers
The next step in the manual opens...
