Is there an advantage to getting a gun cerakoted other than looks? I have a 308 in ar platform with stainless barrel and burris tac 30 on it. Would the coating extend the life of my barrel? Does it even go inside the bore i dont know. Thanks for any info

It's only for exterior protection and aesthetics. It does not get applied inside the barrel and does not extend the life of the barrel as it relates to rounds fired.
