So I have this old 1943 Remington production 1903 that a previous owner sporterized. However it looks like something that was done by Bubba in his garage. So basically I'm need to find a smith that knows 1903s and can get this rifle back into prime condition. What I am needing done is:

1) Reproduce this stock. I really like the shape of the stock but it is cracked and the swivel studs are horribly off center.

2) Check the condition of the barrel and replace if necessary.

3) Refinish. The blueing is showing it's age and might or might not go back with bluing.

4) The rear scope base a major issue. Somebody got the bright idea to use high temp lock-tite on one of the screws and thus the smith might as well take care of the problem while he has it.
