Does it matter if the brake for the silencer is timed or can it be offset? Got a yhm suppressor and putting it on a ar-10 308. There is not enough barrel to use the washers to time the adapter. Any ideas? Pics for what I'm talking about. Will only be shooting gun with suppressor on.

I've not used Rocksett, but I think there are those here that will suggest getting some. Then, mixing it up, applying to the threads and installing the brake to where you want it and setting the barrel aside for at least 48 hours.

edit; I just saw Zak's post below re; The shoulder. Scrap what I said above about Rocksetting. He's right, you need a good, solid, square shoulder.

Yeah, get that re-cut.

Here's the muzzle of my 700 cut by a very good local...

He cut it to time up without shims. And of course, proper threads and a good shoulder means I just snug it down with a wrench — no locktite, no rocksett, nothing — and none of my several have ever tried to loosen, even when the locking teeth engage so much I have to resort to the wrench to get the suppressor to come off the brake.

There’s no shoulder to speak of. Have the threads checked. If they’re good and you have enough barrel for a shoulder to brake match up have the brake timed when a good shoulder is cut

So its a no go for just threading it on tight and it holes being out of alignment? Its a complete upper from PSA. There's not enough barrel thickness to have a shoulder and I don't want to go the adapter route.it gonna be either tighten it down hard with locktite or have the threads cut to time brake and tighten. Any other ideas? I'm just excited I didn't have to wait a year for suppressor. Took less than 6 months with a trust.
