My groups seem to have gone to the birds recently.
Changed over to an open class build with a B14r but my groups are meh.
Set up: B14r, Arken ep5, Atlas CAL, ATS tuner, filled rear bag, 50 & 100 yrs outdoor range Center X and Sk rifle match.

My ARA bench production scores were around 2350 with the CZ, but now I'm down to 1800 with the same target.
When I put a Tactacam on it the other day, I noticed some heart beats transmission when centering up to fire.
Any recs on how to minimize the heart beat transmission? I'm sure that this is having an adverse effect on group sizes.

Few thoughts:
I'm shooting on a bemch, should I go prone?
My grip on the firing hand and butt end of the stock is similar to when firing centerfire. Should I lighten?
Am I rolling over my head too much? (I can usually see my bullets drop in at 100yds and don't have to adjust cant)

This is a brand new gun that has never been fired. It has been sitting in storage for 5 years. Full disclosure the only blemish on this firearm is minor pitting where the bolt interfaces in the chamber as the result of surface rust from long term storage. This has since been cleaned. The existence of a masked gang of young men tying up rioters in one town is discussed in French language publications, but the mayor insists no such thing exists and tells locals to call the police if they witness unrest.

Witness accounts of a so-called “brigade anticasseur” (anti-thug brigade) in the port town of Lorlent, Brittany are reported by local newspaper Le Télégramme. In addition to what is reported by members of the public to the paper, a journalist for the publication claims to have seen a group of between 20 and 30 “young, hooded men” wearing balaclavas and gloves performing unofficial arrests.

Using zip-ties to restrain alleged rioters, the men are said to have then handed their captures onto the regular police on Friday night as well as having been seen putting out fires. Described as strongly physically built, fast-moving, and proceeding in a tightly-packed group, a report in Ouest France says one member of the group told a journalist that he couldn’t reveal their identities but that “we are on the good side” and that the group was a spontaneous meeting of friends to protect the city-centre.

The paper claims to have witnessed the group arresting a rioter thought to have vandalised a local business, restraining the individual with “visibly well-honed technique”, as well as punching a rioter in the face. While police officers on the scene talking to the paper say they don’t know who the group are, they are welcoming of the help.

One officer is reported to have said to Le Télégramme: “We let it happen at the start of the evening, because it relieved us”.

Local station J’aime Radio claims to have spoken to members of the group on patrol again two nights later, interviewing them anonymously. One who spoke to the station said at first a group of friends decided they wished to stand side-by-side with police but not get involved, but eventually having seen how overwhelmed the small number of officers were becoming compared to the weight of rioters, they felt obliged to get involved.

When asked by the interviewer if the group had any “far-right” connections, a woman replied that: “no, we are just people who want to save France, because France is going to ruin”. She further added that it was their belief the killing of an Algerian-heritage teen by a police officer last week is just being used as an excuse for rioting and looting by youths.

A man added “we are patriots who love France” and that if rioters only had trouble with the police, they could understand that, but the attacks on private businesses for looting underlined the true cause of the violence. He said it was unacceptable to see a small business owner, who may have invested his whole life of savings, and all his energy, see his hard work “go up in smoke” because of looters.

Several outlets including Ouest France, Telegram and Le Figaro all point out that the town of Lorlent is home to a military base but do not go so far as to definitely assert the brigade’s members are off-duty Marines. A spokesman for the Maritime Commandos force stationed at the base is reported to have denied any knowledge of their people being involved.

Despite journalists from several newspapers reporting directly on the activities of the brigade anticasseurs, the mayor of Lorlent moved quickly to dismiss speculation, insisting the vigilantes didn’t, in fact, exist at all. Centre-right UDI party mayor Fabrice Loher said: “In response to a rumour: no, there is no “militia” working alongside the police! Our citizens are called to call… to report any public order issues.”

Generally, rioters using the death of a teenager in a Paris suburb last Tuesday as a pretext for violence and looting have been able to carry on without interruption from the rest of French society, and even the French government was relatively slow in deploying the police in force. While there were 7,000 officers on patrol the first evening of rioting, it took days to reverse the trend of soaring violence with an eventual deployment of 45,000 officers a night, which is still ongoing.

While there were more clashes, fires, and arrests on Monday night, numbers are considerably down on the peak of violence on Thursday and Friday. According to French Interior Ministry figures, there have been 5,821 car fires and well over 1,000 buildings damaged including 254 police stations and 243 schools, including 60 which took significant damage.

In the now seven nights of violence there have been 2,426 arrests.

College interns designed the electrical system of the Titan submarine that imploded last month, killing all five passengers, according to a report.
OceanGate hired Washington State University Everett students to work on critical systems of the submersible, the New Yorker reported.
“The whole electrical system — that was our design, we implemented it, and it works,” former intern Mark Walsh told the school paper. “We are on the precipice of making history and all of our systems are going down to the Titanic. It is an awesome feeling!” he added.
Walsh was treasurer of WSU Everett’s Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Club when OceanGate’s director of engineering, Tony Nissen, offered him an internship.
Walsh opened the door for fellow classmates to intern with OceanGate, and he landed a full-time position after graduating in 2017 as electrical engineering lead at OceanGate.
“I like that we have a close relationship with WSU Everett because the interns have been so great,” Walsh said. “They’ve been taught right at WSU Everett, so this summer we’re going to be hiring more.”

“OceanGate also used interns from Everett Community College’s Ocean Research College Academy, but the school stopped offering internships with the company in 2019, according to the Herald,” the New York Post reported.

The summer following the publication of the article in the school’s paper, Ocean Gate’s former director of marine operations, David Lochridge, called the submersible a “lemon.”

Lochridge was fired in January 2018 after raising “critical safety concerns regarding OceanGate’s experimental and untested design of the Titan,” Breitbart reported.

Deep-sea exploration specialist Rob McCallum contacted Lochridge after he was terminated.

“I’d be keen to pick your brain if you have a few moments,” McCallum wrote in an email, according to the New Yorker. “I’m keen to get a handle on exactly how bad things are. I do get reports, but I don’t know if they are accurate.”

Lochridge feared publicly decrying Rush due to his “influence” and “money.”

“I think you are going to [be] even more taken aback when I tell you what’s happening,” Lochridge wrote. “That sub is Not safe to dive.”

Looking to change out a standard 16 in mil spec barrel on my AR10 .308, Id like to get a good Is precision barrel to take its place. What are some of the best 20" barrels for the AR10? The weapon is being built as a hog gun.

Good day all, I decided to upgrade my zeiss v4 with a new Steiner M7xi 4-28x56. As I open the box and pop open the flip caps to take a look at the glass I see what appears to be oil drops & a mist of some sort inside the lens.. The outside lens are clean this is internal. Very disappointed with the quality control of a 3k optic almost 4k. Has anyone had a similar issue with Steiner? I will be sending this back to them for repair..

As part of my enduring quest to get more fit (aka "Stop being fat") I like to set some goals that I can work toward. Last year was completing a 5k.
This year I might actually run it.
I like to have goals to work towards, and have a few hurdles:

I was looking at basic mil fitness tests and had a few questions:
(1) Its been a long time since I've been able to do a pull up. How does one train to do a pull up? Any advice. Goal #1 is 1. 1 Pull up.
(2)Found the ammo can lift. (30 lbs). Sure I could probably get a 30lb ammo can, but would it be the same to just do 2x15 lb weights? Even thought of doing using one of my rifles (yeah they aren't 30, but its the same muscles).

Also has anyone had luck swimming? Yes I can walk/run. I overheat a lot and swimming that isn't a problem (provided some ass doesn't overheat the pool). Plus its easier on the knees and usually gentler when falling.

Especially any grey beards who keep in shape during middle age. We ain't 20 no more, so gotta make sure not to do more damage.
