SOLD Terminus Zeus

New Terminus Zeus. RH SA .473 BF (standard).

Just cycled it 50 or so times. Super smooth action but decided to stick with my Impact because of the number of barrels I have hanging around for that.

Not the QC version. I had issues (not with Terminus) in the past with various QC systems and just dont go that route anymore. Its too easy to torque a barrel to second guess your rifle all the time.

Shipped to FFL CONUS

SOLD TacOps Echo 51 for sale

I have decided to sell a TacOps Echo 51 I don't shoot much anymore. I acquired this rifle via a trade from a gentleman in MT some time ago. I believe the rifle was in LEO use prior to that which is why it show signs of use. Rifle was built on Remington action and BDL. Caliber is 308win and barrel is 20". This is a relatively old rifle and was build by TacOps when they were still engraving details on the barrel and Birdsong was using the more tanish green color. . Comes with standard muzzle thread cover, birdsong coated 30mm Leupold rings, and hard case. I do not know total round count but I put approximately 250rds through it. I don't have a test target but the rifle shoots 168FGMM as a TacOps should. No trades.

$3300 Shipped from my FFL to your FFL.

Buyer must supply me with a copy of FFL for shipment and sign a bill of sale. Payment can be made through Zelle, Venmo, or by check (rifle ships after check clears).

2023 Toyota Sequoia

Anybody have a 2023 Sequoia? My wife is going to be due for a new car within the next year or so. I’m starting my research now. I can’t find any real info on them yet, all I see online is people who are linked to Toyota telling everyone how great they are. I haven’t been able to get into one as my local Toyota dealers aren’t getting many allocations.

She’s been a Honda person since she was 15 and got an accord that went 245k we now have a 2020 passport that’s approaching 80-90k we typically will get her a new car at 150k miles which is about when we pay them off (3.5-4 years) I’d be fine sticking with another passport or a pilot, but I’ve heard people love their Toyota’s.

So does anybody have any first hand knowledge or experience with one?

Need more power than 350 Legend

So I took the last month off SH and maybe I’m in an argumentative mood or I’ve just spent more time using some of my equipment during deer season. Doesn’t matter.

After terminal performance (or lack thereof) on deer in Iowa during late season, I’ve decided I need more than that the 350L provides.

Current Iowa laws state that during muzzle loader season I can use any pistol over 35 cal so I’m looking to build something based on the AR10 platform with a <16” barrel (likely 15”). Driving factors for me are energy on target and bullets that expand at these velocities (greater than 1500fps to 1700fps is preferred) to deliver that energy. I don’t mind loading Cutting Edge Bullets or similar to get good performance but factory ammo availability just to have is a big plus for me.

Below are my choices but I’d love feedback from anyone on any cartridge you have experience with.

1. 358 Win - this seems to be dying off a bit but provides the best velocity and easy factory ammo / brass. Seems to be a legit 300 yd deer rifle with the right bullets / powder

2. 375 Raptor - I’ve heard of issues on headspacing due to the short shoulder, but the performance here seems great. I would prefer the 375 diameter bullet for more expansion at lower velocities.

3. 45 Raptor - gives up trajectory to get bullet expansion and serious energy on target. Probably closest to the 12 ga slug I grew up shooting.

Am I missing any other cartridges? I’d love to shoot a 338 Fed or 8.6 Blk but it doesn’t meet the diameter requirements. Thanks!

First bolt action?

I am looking at these two rifles and have done my research and still can’t make my mind up. Both are about $1,100 and I am getting it in 308.

I am looking at the

Savage 110 Ultralite Gray Syn Proof Barrel

And

Tikka T3x CTR

What are your thoughts? Since this is my first bolt action and trying not to spend more than $1,200. Is one that better than the other? Looking for a quality rifle to get out to 1000 yards at some point. Thanks in advance

Night Vision G24 vs Rhino

Need opinions from guys who have used both.

I’ve got a rhino II with the dovetail adapter that I’ve been using for years and it works pretty well.

I’m in need of a 2nd mount and debating on getting a G24 for the extra for/aft adjustment. The only knock I have on the rhino is that even when fully extended the devices are a little closer to my eyes then I would prefer.

So is the Wilcox worth the extra $$? It will be around $500 where I can get another rhino for $200.

Camping at matches

Not sure where to post this but since it goes with going to matches, I thought this looked like a logical spot.
Wonder if any of you all are camping at any of the matches? Thinking of purchasing a class B RV to roll to the matches. Would save a few $$$ ultimately, I could cook my own vittles and hang out in the evening with some friends around the fire, drink some Buffalo Trace, and strategize on how I’m gonna win the match 😝.
Is anyone doing this? What are you ridin? Is it really cost effective, or just an added PITA?

So I Baked My Brass at 425 For a Bit...

I like to dry my wet tumbled brass in the oven at 225 for 30 minutes, then let it cool in the oven overnight to to insure that it's dry. Long story short, I left the brass in the oven for a few days. Wife pre heated the oven to 425 for some nom nom nom onion rings, and lo and behold. When she went to place the onion rings into the oven, there sat my brass. The brass was in that environment for about 25 minutes. It now has a nice rainbow hue to it in the right light. What type of damage did I do to that brass?
It's no real loss as it's only range .223/5.56 brass. Only 100 pieces that I was part of a lot that I will be turning into .300 BO Brass. But I would like to know what damage I did to the brass? Why is it now a rainbow hue? Obviously due to the high heat at a prolonged time, but metallurgically speaking, what happened to the brass? Should I throw it away now as it may be unsafe to use?
