Trades Im looking for in this order
1. Barreled Action with Trigger. Looking for Impact 737 or Lone Peak preferred, would consider a Zeus. 6 dasher barrel with no to minimal round round chambered by a reputable smith. I have SaC modular for 6 dasher so Id like to stick with that. Trigger tech diamond single stage trigger. Or Bix and Andy Tac Sport
2. High end AR10 in 6.5cm
3. High end AR15 in 6 arc

I've narrowed things down to either a SR25 or LMT MARS-H and fwiw, I shoot Lefty and want a full ambi platform. I've looked at lots of other weapons and while I'd ask you to feel free to chime in with other options, I'm pretty settled on these two. I've shot both of these before and like them both a lot with the SR25 getting a slight edge. The LMT felt like cheating at 350y, it was so easy. I've also owned a Tavor7 and Scar17 (multiple times) and never felt the 'love' for either to be honest. Time in the Army has made me an AR-guy I suppose.

Items to consider:
Will go with a 14.5" or 16" barrel using a DA FH so that I can run my Sandman S
Will use multiple optics depending on intended use that day, including thermal
I already have a SR25 lower inbound (can either use it or sell and make a bit of money towards the LMT
Because of multiple factors, this will be my 'go to' gun
I work a LOT of hours with a schedule that lacks any sort of structure coupled with limited number of local ranges so don't have the time to perpetually fiddle with things

Which route would you take? The SR25 checks all the boxes except for cost; the LMT has other Pros like barrel changing (that I'd maybe only use to get a 20" 308 barrel) with the only Cons I can think of being potentially being overgassed and then having to mess around with buffers, springs, ez tube, etc. and about half a pound heavier.

So I am a certified old fart now and as such I was out for my afternoon walk when I found myself in a new and interesting situation. I found myself if not directly in, very close to someone's line of fire, I could hear the gunshots closely followed by ricochets (Subsonic, either pistol or PCC). If had to guess I was less than 100-ish yards from the rounds point of impact and rather close to being directly down range from the shooters position. The problem was that I was on a bike / walking path in a "good" part of town at exactly 12 noon, not up in the mountains on the other side of a hill from a DNR shooting range.

Obviously this was a freak occurrence of me just being in the exact wrong place at the exact wrong time, but it did get me curious. I have a ring doorbell and I see all the time people posting about gunshots at various timers of day and night. Are you guys seeing a rise in gun violence or random shootings where you live or is the ghetto slowly moving in to my neighborhood? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts or personal experiences if you have a similar one. I did talk to a sheriffs deputy and they did find spent cartridges but I did not want to ask too many questions and appear suspicious.

The next obvious questions revolve around chambering selections and that answer includes more industry unique offerings. The John Hancock is available with barrels in the following calibers. Barrel lengths are posted next to the caliber. The 6mm barrels are 1:8 twist, the 6.5's are 1:8 and the 30cal is a 1:10 twist.

Where does one find Christmas to be more than purses and fulfilling some type of self-worth complex by trying to purchase/receive your way to happiness? I have some money, I ain't rich by some standards but I have done pretty well. I also have a lot to be thankful for and feel blessed. But these days it seems all this buying is just to buy, trying to prove how much someone means, or cares...or trying to justify worth, and value.

That somehow it washes away the dirt, at least temporary, until of course the newness wears off. Perhaps I am being overly cynical, and the path to happiness is in the next Amazon package? I am not saying gifts are wrong or whatever, but that Christmas has devolved, even just in my lifetime, to some Uber-marketed, hyped-up spend-fest.
