Question about Atlas Bipod Models

If someone specifically recommends "Atlas CAL bipod with PSR legs", are they referring to the three CAL models that have 7075 Alum legs (model BT69 series) instead of 6061 (BT65 series)?

In the linked chart below I saw that PSR models all have 7075 Alum legs. I'm asking because the three CAL models with the 7075 legs are slightly taller- about 6.3 - 12 inches, compared to their shorter models with 6061 Alum legs at about 5.2 - 9.5 inches. TYIA

Yeah. Sure. Legitimate elections. Have good credit ? Pay more to subsidize bad credit “people”

Ear Pro Problems

Sorry if this is the wrong section of the forums.

I've been shooting Bolt Action .308s for around 2 years now. Always used SureFire ear plugs with Peltor Sport Tacs over the top.

Recently I have shot two PRS competitions each with around 100 rounds fired and I have found myself coming away with tinitus and minor hearing loss in my right ear (right handed shooter). The left ear has been fine on both occasions.

The first one went after a day or two, the second occasion its been over a week and whilst the tinitus has mostly gone and the hearing almost fully returned, I am starting to get a little concerned, particularly because I already double up on ear Pro.

I've had two suggestions as too what may be causing it.

1. I have started shooting with a new Muzzle Brake with aggressive ports in them which may be sending all the pressure and sound waves back at me. The issues do sort of coincide with the change of Muzzle Brake, but I had shot it a few times zeroing etc before the matches and from recollection had no issues.

2. The shock wave is resonating through the chassis of my AI and up into the cheek causing damage from the inside.

I've tried having a bit of a Google to try and find respectable research or testing in these areas but not really having any joy... does anyone have first hand experience with this or know of any literature around it?

I'm going to try my AI Muzzle Brake with 90 degree ports to see if that resolves the issue, if not I may have to shoot with a Moderator.. assuming it's not a resonance issue.

Glock trigger improvement options

Not sure where to post this now that the side arm forum is gone. Still I think this forum has a good knowledge base for this kind of thing.
Looking to improve a glock trigger or replace. I don't want a competition style trigger, just a nice clean and crisp one that has less take up and is a little lighter than the factory trigger. I like the glock trigger face itself just fine. I tried a ghost edge connector and was not impressed. Too much fiddling with it to get it to run correctly and lost a ton of the feel in the reset.

Wouldn't mind if it was super expensive either but well see. I've been looking at the Apex one. Still learning about the internals of glocks. Ive oiled the factory connector and that seems to have made a slight improvement. Gun only has a couple hundred rounds on it at this point.

Reliability is super important.

To anneal or not

I keep going back and forth on this one. I’m not shooting bench rest, 1/2 to 3/4 moa is fine. I don’t like messing with dies after I have a load, so annealing would help that in regards to neck tension. But how much? How many extra firing you get outta brass in general? If I was going to get an annealer it’d be an AMP so I could set it and forget it but it’s just a steep price to try to justify.

SOLD Razor G3 6-36 mrad

Mint condition. Upgraded turrets, which are SWEET by the way. Comes with all the goods it normally comes with and I’m leaving my butler creek flip cap on the eye piece since the vortex one kinda sucks.

I’ve got a few of these and they’re fantastic. I actually sold a zco and an atacr and ended up with a few of these and couldn’t be happier. I’m just scaling back how many rifles I have.

$2350 to your door in the lower 48.

I’ve got a pair of arc rings I’ll be posting separately, if you’re interested.

I am in the market for a long action chassis and would consider a trade for an mpa esr or an acc premier.

You heard it first here..well, second anyway....Charges dropped against Baldwin...www.Maggotnews.com

Alec Baldwin will not be criminally charged for Halyna Hutchins's death on Rust set after all.

Criminal charges against Alec Baldwin will be dropped in the Rust case, Yahoo Entertainment has confirmed. The actor faced two counts of involuntary manslaughter for the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. As of now, the film's weapons handler, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, still has charges standing against her; however, her lawyers expect she will also be "exonerated."

"We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident," the actor's attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, tell Yahoo.

The move comes one month after special prosecutor Andrea Reeb stepped down from the case. Baldwin's lawyers argued her appointment was unconstitutional due to her status as a Republican lawmaker in the New Mexico House of Representatives. Newly appointed special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis are expected to dismiss Baldwin's charges without prejudice. That means he could be charged in the future as they continue their investigation; however, that appears unlikely.

Gutierrez-Reed's attorneys praised the new special prosecutors.

"The new special prosecutor team has taken a very diligent and thorough approach to the entire investigation, which we welcome and have always welcomed," Jason Bowles and Todd Bullion tell Yahoo in a statement. "They are seeking the truth and we are also. The truth about what happened will come out and the questions that we have long sought answers for will be answered. We fully expect at the end of this process that Hannah will also be exonerated."

Yahoo reached out to the Santa Fe district attorney's office for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.

Earlier this year, Baldwin pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter. If found guilty, he faced up to 18 months in prison. However, the case faced issues from the beginning.

When it was first announced Baldwin would be criminally charged, he faced five years in prison if convicted on the most serious count of involuntary manslaughter. That was because prosecutors included a five-year mandatory firearm enhancement; however, the law did not exist at the time of the Rust shooting on Oct. 21, 2021. The downgraded charge was a big win for the Emmy-winning actor.

"In order to avoid further litigious distractions by Mr. Baldwin and his attorneys, the District Attorney and the special prosecutor have removed the firearm enhancement to the involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of Halyna Hutchins on the Rust film set," Heather Brewer, a spokeswoman for the New Mexico First District Attorney, told Yahoo Entertainment of that earlier decision. "The prosecution's priority is securing justice, not securing billable hours for big-city attorneys."

When Reeb stepped down, it appeared to be another blow to the prosecution in terms of public perception.

"After much reflection, I have made the difficult decision to step down as special prosecutor in the Rust case. My priority in this case — and in every case I've prosecuted in my 25-year career — has been justice for the victim," the office of New Mexico's First Judicial District Attorney said in a statement. "However, it has become clear that the best way I can ensure justice is served in this case is to step down so that the prosecution can focus on the evidence and the facts, which clearly show a complete disregard for basic safety protocols led to the death of Halyna Hutchins. I will not allow questions about my serving as a legislator and prosecutor to cloud the real issue at hand."

Baldwin was rehearsing with the gun that went off and killed Hutchins. He's maintained that he did not pull the trigger. Production on Rust, with Baldwin at the helm, has resumed with the support of Hutchins's widow.

Options for 6.5 CM Tactical Ammunition

I’m a LE sniper in Texas. We have 20” Bergara 6.5 creedmoor rifles. I am looking for recommendations for factory 6.5 cm tactical ammo.

We had been shooting 147 grain Hornady ELD. During the first year of Covid, Hornady sent us 147 gr TAP ammo instead of the ELD and told us it was the same thing. It was not. We used to shoot 1/2 minute groups with our rifles. Now we can barely hold 1” at 100 yds. We’ve tried 140 grain TAP; even worse groups. All five of our rifles are struggling, with experienced shooters. We even had Bergara re-barrel three of the rifles. Still no improvement.

Our next move is to try out ammunition. It has to be factory and it has to be suitable for tactical applications. We are going to shop around and get several different bullets and test them through each of our rifles.

What are other snipers from other departments using?

Why we Train

Situation

SHD_8441-1440x961.jpg

You prepare to take your first shot of the day at distance after checking zero. Zero was fine. You are comfortable with your ballistic data for the sake of this conversation. You pick a target at 800 yards with your 308 and notice that it is .5 mil wide. You make your best wind call. Bang (pew?). You see splash in the dirt .25 mils right of the edge of the target (.5 from point of aim).

What would you do hot shot ?

You have a few options now.

You can record your shot data, wind call, etc.

You can follow up your shot with a few different and popular techniques in order to hit the target on your next shot.

You can move to a different target.

You can go home.

Explain what you would do and why?

Recognize the Process

I would begin with the following question: what are you training? To me this is the critical question that should...

Zero Compromise Optic MPCT2X Reticle Design

Written by Nick Gebhardt

Picture1.jpg

At Zero Compromise Optic we are always staying on top of industry trends and keeping an ear open to what our customer base is asking for.  When we first developed our original reticles, the MPCT1 and MPCT2, they were highly advanced and represented what customers were looking for at that time.  Over the last couple of years some new trends have emerged and we’ve been following these ideas with interest and analyzing how our own products can be improved.  While our original MPCT2 reticle is still very popular, we felt that we could make it better and more in line with current trends.  So, how exactly did we improve on one of the best reticles in the industry?

First, we minimized the...

Firearms Tikka .223 Trainer $1400

Looking to sell my Tikka .223 setup. $Pending

20" - 1:8 - M18x1 threads. Currently has a SiCo ASR brake that is included.

Right now it's sitting in a KRG Bravo, but I do have the original stock and CTR bottom metal. Minor scuffs but overall really good shape. Estimated sub 600 down range with it preferring heavier bullets for tiny groups. I haven't shot a load, even 5.56, that was terrible.

1 Accurate Mag 10rd
1 MDT Polymag (fits OG CTR BM)

Scope and bipod aren't included but can be if turnkey is important.

Prefer FTF in Central or South TX, but will split actual shipping from IDV to your FFL. Cross posted on a few places.
