Freezing! My blood is too thin...

Having been raised an Army brat, I've lived in my share of cold environments, high school in Anchorage. I've been here in LA (Lower Alabama) my adult life and my blood is literally thinner, and less cold tolerant. We're experiencing our 1st hard freeze in years. Pretty sure I've got all the bases covered. My rottweilers are enjoying some inside time, I know the breed originated in Europe but mine were born and raised here, so they're not used to this either. If it's going to be this cold, I wish it it would snow, it's been about 15 years since we've had any. Which is always funny to see the sad little snowmen.

Identifying Lyman Dies

My father just passed his reloading dies to me, and I cannot identify them. I have no knowledge of reloading--I can't even tell you what each of these dies does--but I am interested in learning. Each die has a three-digit number stamped on it, but I cannot find any reference on the web for using those numbers for identification. Does anyone have a resource I can use to identify these and start my foray into reloading?

Best folder on a Remington 700 chassis?

Howdy folks,
I have the itch to purchase a folding chassis to replace the issued Hogue rubberized plastic stock on my 700 SPS in 5.56mm.
Comparing the Cadex to the KRG, MDT Carbon Fiber and MPA folders.
I am after most solid rigidity when locked open, AICS Mag capability and adjustable cheekpiece and LOP. Ability to lock open and closed is a plus.
Main concern is the folding parts. My AIAX .300 Winmag is the benchmark. Locked open or closed, the AI is solid.
Of the companies listed above, which has the best folding chassis per your experience?
Thanks for your feedback!

A big !@#$ you gift

I just wanted to take a moment and say, "Thank you" to the 18 Republican Senators who voted to help Joe Biteme pass his 1.7 Trillion dollar Omnibus bill which contain 600 million in ear marks. We The People are so grateful for generous @$$ raping you have just bestowed upon us (sarcasm). Finally, thank you for proving once and for all that the idea of Republicans being "Debt Hawks" is complete bullshit. Merry Christmas America

Tactical Operations Drag Bag Question

Hello, I hope this is in the right section. I have a Tac Ops drag bag I got from GA Precision a while ago when I picked up an M40A5. It measures 57" in length.

I was taking some gear out of the outer pocket near the top of the drag bag and noticed what appears to be an opening in the corner. I can't figure out if this is meant to be some kind of drainage hole which usually is comprised of a grommet, or if the stitching is coming apart in that corner of the pocket.

I have attached some pictures to assist with describing where I am referring to on the drag bag. If anyone has one of these please let me know if they have a similar opening or if this is defective. This bag rarely sees any use so I know it is not from any rough handling on my part.

Thank you.

Been a while since I was looking for a new AR so I figured I would ask the experts.

I did look at search, so forgive me if I missed anything, but after spending the last several years shooting mostly shotguns and some long range, I wanted to start taking carbine courses monthly. 14.5" ish barrel, lightweight and something that I can send 800-1000 rounds a month through. So durability/reliability is key. 400 yards and in (would like to punch some steel at 600 yards occassionally but not the main focus here).

I'm not going to build it myself (I'd like it to work)

I love my LMT MARS-H AR10, so I know that brand well, just curious to what others think would be a good setup. Also have a JP 16" for three gun that I guess could work. I'd rather not spend KAC money on it but I'm not looking for a budget gun here.

Appreciate the replies

D’oh!!

Paying an idiot $15+ per hour.

When America decided every teenage, fuckwit and asshole to ever stumble into a service job was worth brain surgeon wages everyone knew what the end result would be except America's stupid fucking idiot socialists. Somehow the fuckwit leftists thought companies would simply pay every asshole in the place manager's wages and prices would stay low. Why you would think something that fucking stupid is something no socialist would ever be able to explain.

If my wife and I go to Denny's for breakfast or dinner, it is $40 dollars minimum for two drinks and two meals and a reasonable tip if the service is decent. We cannot get out of a fast food joint for $20 bucks unless we buy two drinks and a medium fries. If you order a burger, you can read newsprint thru the patty and a 1/4 pounder is now 1.5 ounces tops. We stopped at Arby's and my bride had a "Rueben sandwich combo" the bread was the same size with a silver dollar sized blog of meat in the middle and the fry container was half empty. I took it all back to the counter and got a refund, I told the manager if they needed the fries that badly they should stop selling them. He opined that was the "corporate approved" serving size. We promised to never return and parted ways.

It is amusing to see that even leftist fuckwit news has noticed the problem they fucking caused.

Good luck with that $15 dollar latte from an asshole making $35 an hour at Starbucks and working like a worthless Teamster.

I'd be interested in more details...My place or yours??

Cheap vs Expensive ammo question

Hello all!

I recently purchased my first long range rifle (MPA PMR Pro 6.5 Creedmoor) to get into PRS shooting and the occasional long-range shooting. I have been looking online to see how much ammo runs, i can find everything from Hornady Match ELD that runs around $2+ a round or Sellier & Bellot hat runs a little over $1.25 per round. My question is, since im am no pro and just getting into the sport, would anyone recommend that i buy the cheaper ammo so i can get more for more practice or does it make such a huge difference in the long range game that everyone use top notch rounds. Thanks. Any insight would be helpful.

Facial recognition at an event.

Kelly Conlon, 44, was chaperoning her 9-year-old daughter’s Girl Scout troop to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular last month when she was flagged by the event space’s facial recognition system and refused entry despite holding a ticket.

What landed the New Jersey-based attorney on the naughty no-entry list? Her job.
This surveillance will be in all public venues including grocery stores soon enough. Technology will be the end of humanity soon enough.

What do I have here?

A friend who used to reload gave me his press and associated items and I have little idea as to the value before I put it in the Buy/Sell. The brass is my once fired Hornady Creedmoor so I can take a guess at the market rate for that, but for the other stuff I'm really at a loss. Ballpark ideas to help me price it fairly? I'm not a rifle/handgun reloader.

New money not coming

A couple days ago there was a meme with a black girl sitting next to a sign in her credit union saying they wouldn’t be getting any new 2023 money. Honestly I was a little skeptical of this but I just went to my bank and asked about it as I was going to get five new $100 bills for my grandchildren and the woman behind the counter told me that they received an email from their headquarters Bank of America that they would be receiving any 2023 money this year that there was too much money in circulation and so there would be no 2023 Bills, these are her words not mine . Make of this what you will…..

Do I really Need a $400 Mount?

I'll probably get bashed for this, but it's an honest question. I bought a new NF scope and I'm looking at mounts and I'm wondering what is the difference between say a $100 Leupold mount and a $400 NF or Spuhr mount? Is it really going to make a difference in my accuracy? I e never spent more than about $150 on rings or a mount because I don't see why. I look at it like a lower on an AR, as long as it's in spec it's fine.

Am I wrong? Will a more expensive mount do a better job of holding my scope?

ETA: this is going on a .223 AR SPR type rifle, so no 300 win mag recoil or anything
