Man dancing on 18-wheeler knocked off under bridge, police say

HOUSTON - A man dancing on the trailer of an 18-wheeler died after he was knocked off while going under a bridge, Houston police say.
A 25-year-old man died in the crash that occurred around 11:35 a.m. Thursday along the US-59 Eastex Freeway at Tuam Street.
According to police, an 18-wheeler driver was traveling southbound when, unknown to him, a man jumped or climbed onto the top of the trailer portion of his vehicle.
Video shared by Grizzy's Hood News captured the shocking moments on camera.
Police say the man began dancing and possibly recording himself.
As the 18-wheeler went under the Tuam Street bridge, police say the man was struck and knocked off of the trailer onto the freeway.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the driver of the 18-wheeler was found to not be impaired, and he was questioned and released.
The investigation into the deadly crash continues.

For Those With A Knee-Mail Account,

We'd sure appreciate a few prayers for my Brother-In-Law. He's been in the hospital since May of this year, and we're simply asking for him to be healthy-enough to be home for Christmas.

He went in with sepsis due to complications from a leg amputation in '17. The hospital professionals in all their wisdom kept changing his medication AND the amounts.

Then he got MRSA, and they had to change the medication yet again. But it didn't work on the sepsis, so while the MRSA was being addressed, the sepsis got worse.

I forget why/what happened, but he needed 'faschiotomies' (however you spell it, I'm not a fascist) where they slashed open every 'connecting limb' (Shoulders to elbows, inside and out/hips to knees, top and bottom/knee to ankle, both sides of the calf)

Then they were looking at sending him home to be 'comfortable' because there wasn't any point in having him do physio. (yeah, we'd still like to have a wall-to-wall negotiation with that doc)

Then they tried giving him 'dual meds' for the MRSA and the sepsis at the same time, and he got OTHER issues. (I forget at the moment what stage that was)

So now, today, 6 MONTHS later, they are still/yet giving him the particular antibiotic for the sepsis, which HASN'T gone away quite yet. Getting close though.

Yeah, My Lady is asking any and all who Pray, to please Pray for Terry to be home for Christmas. (he's 41 now)

Hacked Accounts, what to do

So the hacked accounts are pretty easy to fix, especially when people see the email change and go on it fast. The problem is usually, at least one post is made in the scammer's name.

Now, all the scammers are doing is, finding the correct password on a previously hacked site, trying it, and if they get in, they change the email and password the make scammer posts in your name using your reputation.

We have been fixing accounts, deleting the scammer posts, and resetting the account, so the member is not out his credentials or time. The problem is I fix an account, and you continue to report them. So we play this back-and-forth game of where we might have missed a post, or the person sees the scam, says nothing, but then sometime later reports the cleaned-up account.

Then we have the problem of which Moderator is contacted and who does what. I fix it, Rob gets contacted, comes in behind me, and bans it.

I might have to start just deleting your account if you were hacked. Otherwise, we chase these same reports 3 and 4 times because people stagger the reports. We fix the issue, as in my mind, it's not a big deal, but then you all turn it into a big deal, and I have to chase it.

Lastly on the same topic, we tell you NOT to make scammer posts; we remove the scammers, the scammers are organized crime and not a person, yet you all think you are smart and start making posts. I caught account RERFFDSEF, and he scammed me; there is no one behind that account, it's faceless as far as you are concerned. What ends up happening instead, you start seeing ghosts EVERYWHERE. I have to clean up accounts every time you all make a Found a Scammer Post. Why you start labeling everything a scam even when nothing is there, and then we stop looking beyond the obvious, You cry wolf and it causes a ton of problems. I cleaned up three accounts today where you accused people of being "scammy" and yet provide no evidence.

On top of that, you reported someone as "scammy" with no evidence and nothing for us to look at, and giving the benefit of the doubt someone was scammed. just saying Scammer is meaningless. You have very little idea of what a scammer account looks like because normally, unless it was a hacked account, they look normal. Now, if you had an interaction with them and see it, but don't give us the details, you wasted everyone's time and probably gave them more time to work.

Please be precise, we have a lot of accounts. With Hacks you have to decide, am I deleting the user name completely or am I fixing them?

Tikka T3X CTR First Shots...WOW!

Today I took out a new Tikka T3X CTR in 6.5 CM shooting for the first time and I have to say I'm really impressed. I was just using old hand loads (with varying powder charges working up in 0.3 grain increments) I had lying around for a different rifle. I labelled the groups in order. It seems the groups tightened up as I shot more. All groups are 5 shot groups at 100 yards. The average group size was 0.57 MOA and all groups were under 1 MOA. I can't wait to see how she shoots with a bit of load development.

The other cool thing is that the first group being low was a result of crudely boresighting the gun. I shot in the middle of 4 targets sheets to make sure I got on paper. Turns out, I was only 1 inch low on elevation (the point of aim was the red dot above the group) and dead on for windage. It doesn't get much better than that. It was probably pure luck, but I'll take it. :ROFLMAO:

Social credit scores in schools

I recently found out that, starting this year, our local high school implemented a system eerily similar to a social credit system. The school calls it a "responsibility standard." This standard is basically a way to subjectivity alter students' grades. Here's how the school describes the system.

The responsibility standard was intended for each teacher to assess each individual student’s readiness which is assessed every two weeks. This includes turning in assignments by their due dates, having the necessary class materials and demonstrating appropriate behavior during school time.

Friends' daughter is being negatively impacted by this system. She's in sports and an otherwise straight A student. Part of this program mandates that you turn in homework by midnight. With sports its not always possible to get stuff done the same night and is getting grades dropped. Still done before class, just not by the midnight deadline.

I understand rules are rules, but as a whole I see grading on non-academic measures as a means of getting kids used to subjective rating system. Anyone else seeing programs like this in their kids' school?
