Firearm Nirvana

I know other have experienced this emotion before, but today was a first for me. To set up the situation, I was home like most other days. Surfing the web, listening to 70 Rock and just having a decent day. Power goes off for a short time, but when it comes back on, I've got no TV, no internet and even Alexis isn't talking to me. So what's a guy to do? I figure I'll get a few guns out of the safe and give them a coat of oil.

Well to my amazement, I look in one of the safes and there sitting in front like it just appeared out of no where is a 12 gauge Remington 870. The odd thing is, it's not in the correct safe. It's in my rifle safe. I grab it and go to my computer and open my inventory database.

It's not there. No new shotgun, no new 870, no new serial number. Now I'm anal when it comes to recording my firearm purchases. With that information and the fact that it was in the wrong safe, makes me sure I didn't purchase the shotgun.

So how did it get there? One of my kids? My wife? I don't know, but I'll take it.

There's no need of me asking the wife or kids, because if they did buy it for me, they would never tell me they did it.

I'm a happy husband and dad. This really made my day. BTW, the gun looks brand new, doesn't appear to be fired at all.

Which Firearm Did You Buy And Couldn't Wait To Get Rid Of?

I know some folks regret selling a firearm that they bought. But do you have a firearm that you bought, that you couldn't wait to sell. For me personally it was a knockoff Ithica Model 37. I bought it just as a stopgap until I could find a decent real Ithica 37. However, it was complete junk. I wasn't happy at all. Sold it back to the gun shop that sold it to me. Only lost $20, so it could have been a lot worse.

Maggot doing his patriotic duty.

Im in the video below, skip to 1:11 and you can see the guy in the plaid shirt and black (NRA) ball cap facing away from the camera.

The ugly bitch you'll see on the Board of Supervisors is Ann Mallek, one of the typical liberal Yankees who fucked up her state, Connecticut, and fled to Virginia to fuck it up here.

I am just curious how much the crunch had driven hoarding, I know I am more prone to jump when I see something I want, afraid it will be gone if I wait.

Why the hatred for savage?

Not being a troll or anything but I’ve got to ask, why the hatred for savage?

While I was fortunate ( very ) to win my rifle in a raffle, the set up is still going to be a considerable investment for me. I really don’t want to put a lot of money into a sub standard rifle. My 13 year old is also really interested in shooting as well, and the rifle will eventually be his.

I just want to make sure I’m going to be investing in a rifle that will be fun for both of us and worth the investment needed.

Water Shortage and Climate Change "Experts" The sage of stupidity.

I have always looked at Cnn out of curiosity to see what they are trying to push. I noticed this article on Lake Meade which feeds the Hoover damn. https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/16/us/lake-mead-colorado-river-water-shortage/index.html

Now the writer of this article mentions "Climate Change" soo many times if it were a drinking game you would be passed out on the floor pissing your pants covered in vomit.

What they fail to mention is the greatly increased use by humans.

IMG_9602.PNG

So it is already know that people in the area are using the river past its capacity, I wonder if any of it is being wasted...

So don't know where these Climate Change types get their information from but I think I have pushed more meaningful things out my ass and flushed them down the toilet. Now, I am not doubting there is a drought currently. They do happen, but in reference to the original article from Cnn which was posted today, there is not any mention of the waste, over usage, the agricultural aspect and population growth. Which are the real factors. California was literally diverting water to a lake that didn't naturally exist and is not nearly as important keeping the reservoir at decent levels.

The narrative is fossil fuels are bad, causing the Global temperatures to rise, green house gases are bad. Which completely ignores the root causes of the actual problem.

Fucking BULLSHIT!

Recommendation on best place to go for a guided hunt

I've never been on a guided hunt nor do i know where to really start. I'm not wanting to spend 30k on a hunt but i would like to go somewhere and have a good experience. I'm located in Georgia and would prefer to fly but can drive if necessary. what have been some of yall's best experiences? I've only killed whitetail and pigs here. would like to get a Elk with my bow someday but the trips I've googled and seen means i will have to do Pablo Escobar activities in order to afford it.

would be interested in an antelope, axis, big whitetail, mule, etc. just didn't know where to start or what to expect. it can get a little overwhelming when you're searching so trying to see if anyone has had good or bad experiences?

would like to use a rifle but bow hunting is an option as well. Thank you.

What crime is being committed by selling fake Vaccination Cards

i read a story that FBI or some other alphabet police seized over 3000 dollars worth of fake vaccination cards that were flown in from china. My question is when has the vaccination card become just as important as a license. It isn't even an official anything. The CDC and gov't started printing these up to give to people who wanted them. Do they require you have this with you or would they like you to have this with you? Just like that we NEED to have our papers? Fuck that. Im surprised this is getting little attention

Maggie’s Restaurant Food Quality

Is it just me or has everyone else noticed this?

In the last few months I’ve discovered hair in my food on about 6 occasions.

It serves no purpose to name the restaurants because the local franchises may not be representative of the larger chain.

What irritates me is everyone is throwing a fit about the need to wear those stupid masks but overlook the more sanitary procedures to ensure food quality.

I’m within a hair’s breadth of starting to throw food at the cooks.

Anyone else having similar experiences?

Rant over - for now.

Anyone GC their own home?

So builders in my neck of the woods are swamped with work and cost of new construction reflects that. I know the cost of materials is still through the roof, but I’d like to get into a new home before rates go up. The way I see it, inflation is going to rear its ugly head and a mortgage at less than 3% is too good to pass up.

Right now I’m getting quotes of around $230 a square foot for garbage materials. I’m talking MDF cabinets, vinyl plank and ceramic tile. Nothing wrong with that, but I cant bring myself to pony up that kind of coin. Nobodys doing allowances anymore either and upgrade charges make the primer situation look tame.

If you’ve done it, how’d it go and would you do it again? We’re the savings worthwhile?

Bolt sticking

Hello everyone, I have a custom built 338LM that I had built about 5 years ago. After about every 75-100 rounds that I shoot, either my bolt sticks and will not retract or after I get it out, I cannot get it back in. So, I have had to take the rifle back 3 times over the years to have something done to it. I actually do not really know what he does but I know that in one instance, he had to file down one of the lugs. I do not shoot hot loads. I reload and have shot many different charges and it seems to still happen. I know very little about Gunsmithing but it seems to me that the bolt and action may not be "beefy" enough and maybe the caliber is just to much for it. Can this be? I remember a comment that he made to me when I asked him if he could build it. He didnt want to retool the machine so he grabbed his largest bolt, put a 338 case up against the head and then said "I think this will work". That statement has always stuck with me.....hence, maybe the action and bolt can't handle the 338 load. Anyway, looking for solutions. Guess I just need to have a new action made for my rifle. Thoughts or ideas are welcomed!!! Thanks all
