Very good condition, exceptions from perfect noted below. I bought this used and then immeadiately got 3 nice 1911 pistols that have sentimental value (to go with the ones I already have), so no need for this too, as 1911's are target guns only for me.

Despite claims by some, the trigger is 100% original, its the 3 hole long trigger, per Ed Brown and I have the emails regarding this from Ed Brown. I will share all of these emails with any serious buyer so they know whats up.

For those wondering, it is the SF II and not just like the Special Forces they now have for sale due to a different texture on the front strap and mainspring housing that is no longer offered. This is a fairly aggressive texture (perfect to me) but apparently tender foot soy latte drinking with their pinky extended gun enthousiats didn't care of it.

Has a little scratch on the bottom of the dust cover. Had a little ding in the finish on the safety. Has a weird "spot" in the finish on the R side of the slide. There are pics showing all of these. I have sent a pic of the weird "spot" to Ed Brown and am awaiting a response as to if the finish is original (has been questioned) and if it is, the cost to refinish. Their CS has been great with questions, so expect that information very shortly and will update.
Night sights are still quite serviceable.

ETA: Ed Brown says finish is original from 2013 when pistol was made.
Can refinish to stainless or blued for $200, $400 for their fancy option.

Hate to flood the forums with another “help me decide.” But don’t wanna miss out on good advice. Been skimming through discussions on some rifles and leaning towards a couple but open to any suggestions.

Looking for a lightweight (carbon fiber is the hype) reliable rifle that is going to be primarily dedicated to hunting. Not looking to build it custom right now so considering factory options.

Was first eyeing the Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT. But wasn’t sure I’d like the traditional style grip on stock as compared to more vertical grips. Obviously stock can be swapped if its the right rifle. Seems that most options in my caliber of choice (300 wsm) are 26” barrels, and as I want to be able to run a suppressor on it thats a little longer than I wanted. Getting into cutting and rethreading barrel is a little further than I was hoping to go. Have also heard good things about the Seekins Havak element, Proof Research Elevation rifle, Savage 110 ultralight, as well as the Fierce CT Rival and am pretty interested in all of them. Another recommendation was the Springfield Waypoint 2020 but I’ve been reading about too many stories of poor bedding and bad customer service.

Any experience with any of these rifles good or bad is appreciated as well as other options to look into. Thanks in advance.

I was looking for the tip about setup up your tripod for a standing, kneeling, etc. shot. I watched a video a while back where someone had a field expedient method for estimating an initial leg length for standing vs kneeling, etc. The only thing I remember was something about holding the tripod at some specific level adjacent to your sternum, but I cannot remember the exact method.

Would like to see a thread with all these little tips listed in one area.

I'm looking for a 6-24x50 scope and there seems to be some great deals right now on Riton and Arken. I can get the Riton Conquer X3 for $349 or the Arken SH4 Gen2 for $299. I've watched the online reviews but would like some real life experience. I'm leaning towards the Arken. I currently own Leupold VX-3i's, Bushnell DMR II and Forge, and Burris. I use the Leupy's for hunting and the others at the range. Of these two which has better glass and fewer concerns? Is there another one I should be considering in this value range? Thanks.

A horrific 2 minute video has leaped from Chinese social media onto the rest of the world's networks in less than 18 hours on September 14, 2022. In the video a 10 year old child who lived in Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang, China with 3 siblings, mother, and grandmother was seen being disciplined by his grandmother via paddling with a slipper for unknown behavioral offenses at home. Suddenly, the kid punches his grandmother and immediately places her in a chokehold. Even as both went down onto the floor, the boy continued holding on. The grandmother tried to fight back at first, beating at the boy blindly and in vain with one of the slippers, but her hands can be seen turning purple very quickly as the life was strangled out of her. Shortly after the elderly woman breathed her last, the boy's horrified mother ran into the room and into a scene out of any parent's worst nightmares. Even more disturbing was the fact that at least one of the boy's older siblings were in the room filming the entire incident with a camera phone, and did nothing to stop the attack. As a matter of fact, authorities now believe that he had even encouraged and egged the younger boy on. Both boys have been arrested by the Zhaodong Municipal Police and being questioned in the death of the boys' grandmother and murder charges against the younger boy are likely to be filed.

What did the process look like for you expats? Where are the best places to go? We are considering Czech, Hungary, Ireland, or Iceland. You have to live there full time for 5+ years until you can petition for citizenship. How did you find your initial places to live while still living stateside?

Something my wife and I have talked about for a long time is the possibility of moving abroad. The political situation stateside has been going downhill fast for decades. We are about to move from Southern California to New England to find better communities of people to raise children around. With republicans and democrats both complicit in busing latinx into the country's interior, we are seriously considering leaving the country altogether. We don't care about politics anymore, we have seen both parties continuously stab us in the back on issues like gun control, vaccine mandates, and putting homosexual relationships on primetime television in front of children to see.

We only care about country and our countrymen, and we want to spend our money in economies with leaders who feel the same way, like Viktor Orbán or Matteo Salving. Social cohesion in the US is deteriorating fast.

We will not raise children amongst the social parasites. In SoCal, our families have seen their communities turn to literal rubble because of the mexican invaders. We have helicopters that fly overhead once a week and announce on a loudspeaker to call the police if you see someone that matches x description. My childhood best friend from church was killed by a 17 year old illegal gangbanger mexican in Arizona, shot in the head and executed randomly.

I was the victim of an illegal mexican's racketeering fraud (car crash claims) in Las Vegas, NV. He hit a company truck with three other illegals inside and sued. Turns out it was 'swoop and squat' fraud. They caught his gang of illegals, prosecuted for racketeering, put them in prison, and they were supposed to pay us back thousands of dollars. They all petitioned for deportation in prison, got sent back to mexico, and never paid any of the 32 people they defrauded. Prosecutors do not know where they are now.

I had to observe a 3rd grade classroom for a college class a few years ago, the classroom where my mother and aunt went to school in the 60s, all with children of blond hair and blue eyes. Fast forward to the date of my observation, and 31 out of 32 children were children of first-generation mexican immigrants. One of the children was a White boy.

More than half of the latinx children had to take an hour out of each of their curriculum each day to participate in an ELD program - English Language Development.

The one White child was given free time to play and had his education paused while providing equity for the latinx children. With the amount of latinx flooding my state’s judicial and education system, it is clear that their own kin are being given preferential treatment while my countrymen are being passed over and not allowed to develop to their full potential.

I wrote a scathing report on why the American taxpayer should not subsidize English-Language-Development programs and got an standing ovation from my professor at the time.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts on an Alamo build compared to something like the Seekins Havak ph2. I’m looking at the 6.5 prc specifically and am wondering if it’s worth the price difference for a hunter. What do I get with an Alamo build that’s performs better than the Seekins.
