Four scenarios.

I find when considering problems it helps to reduce the components to the LCD, and to try to imagine the same situation with slightly different circumstances. ON this one lets leave all religion out of it. Strictly logic and reason.

Scenario 1- A guy moves to the Atlantic coast of Florida and buys a nice expensive home but decides to roll the dice and not buy hurricane insurance. First season a hurricane hits dead center on his new house and blows it so far he now lives in Mississippi. He cries and wimpers for government help. should he get it? Should we feel even a bit sorry fo him for building a home o the coast in a known hurricane area?

Scenario 2-A couple of arrogant wealthy white morons get shitfaced in Manhattan and decide they'll just cruise up to Harlem an start some shit. They get their car stolen, beat to a bloody pulp, and robbed of everything they had. Should I feel sorry for them? Start a go fund me to help them out?

Scenario 3- Guy breaks into a home and gets shot. Should I feel sorry for him? Should I have to help with his hospital bills?

Scenario 4- A bunch of people convince some others with lots of guns to help them take a piece of land they want even though that land is currently populated by people who hate them, and surrounded by billions of others who hate them. Not only do they take the land but they crowd the former residents into a small space and make life hard for them. Now every body around them really hates them and conspires to destroy them. Should we have even a small amount of concern for those so arrogant as to seize land that wasnt theirs, displace hundreds of thousands, and create a firestorm in the whole area that could set off a powder deg that blows up the whold world?

Thats why I feel no sympathy for and wouldnt lift a hand to help Nation State of Israel. They jumped into the middle of a world of shit, literally, and it should be theirs to deal with.

Teslong NTG450H Borescope

The Teslong borescopes are often talked about on Sniper's Hide, so I decided to take a look at these inexpensive borescopes found on Amazon.

IMG_0074.jpeg

I found the unit well made, easy to operate, with enough resolution to get a good idea of what is going on inside your barrel. Now understand a borescope in the wrong hands is a very dangerous tool, so use caution. The inside of your barrel will look like the surface of the moon so don't jump before testing the accuracy of the rifle. But it can help diagnose a problem, identify a carbon ring, etc.

Might have destroyed my Chargemaster….

It’s been a while since I’ve loaded any ammo. Maybe six or seven months.

Last time around, I was loading 9mm with TiteGroup.

Complete oversight on my part but I left some powder in the dispenser.

The powder grains are now stuck to the inside of it.

Any ideas on how I can remove all this old powder?

It scrapes off but I’m not sure I’ll be able to get it all. I’m afraid if I use it for another powder, they’ll mix.

NY STATE: State police cracking down on "ghost guns" visiting addresses of residents who had purchased gun parts on Ebay.

NEW YORK STATE

With the passing of the so-called SAFE Act in 2013 which required background checks on loaded ammunition purchases and bans on most popular and commonly owned models of semiautomatic rifles, New York State had joined New Jersey and California as the very few states that still has ludicrous anti-gun policies which do virtually nothing to deter actual criminals and those hell bent on causing chaos.

However, even before the passing of the SAFE Act, NY State has been one of the few states which place restrictions on the purchase and ownership of handguns. Even though NY is a "shall issue" state in terms of CCW permits, residents are not allowed to purchase and keep in one's residence a handgun until they had obtained a special handgun premises license from their county's licensing department. Recently, in an effort to crack down on PMFs (privately manufactured firearms), or "ghost guns", New York state police had been visiting people at their doors who had made purchases for gun parts from the Ebay website. As NY State requires a permit for the purchases of handguns and had pretty much banned the sale of new AR and AK pattern semiauto rifles, NY State police are most likely looking up the information of people who had been purchasing handgun parts who do not possess a handgun license, or anyone ordering semiauto rifle parts, and then questioning them about the gun parts that they ordered.

According to Ammoland News, the visits were conducted in "shows of force" with 9-12 officers. Two or three officers actually interact with the resident while the rest stay far behind. They have no warrants, except printouts of the peoples' transactions on Ebay and they try to coerce people to allowing them to conduct a search or to inspect their firearms by telling them "we know what you have". So far, none of those visited had consented or relented to any searches and the "ghost gun team" officers left afterwards, but the folks who had been subject to this visitation provided crucial information to Ammoland which would otherwise never have been covered by mainstream media or police press releases.

When reporters from Ammoland asked Ebay about the transaction histories of gun parts customers being given to police, they denied any such happenings, but from the information gleaned so far on those insidious visits, it is undeniable that Ebay has been allowing NYS LE agencies full access into their databases.

Much more info below, along with the NYPD/NYSP's hilariously embarrassing "Ghost Gun Identification Manual" issued to it's firearms officers and it's full contents leaked to Ammoland during the course of this story's coverage:

----------
----------
When the officers show up at New York residents’ doors, they show up in force with between nine and twelve officers. Only two to three officers will speak to the person while the others stand far back in the yard looking bored. The police will ask about the parts and ask to see any firearms that the resident owns. The New York Police are knocking on doors requesting to see the individual’s firearms.

AmmoLand News spoke to several of the residents that the State Police visited. None of the individuals allowed the police to inspect their firearms. The officers would state, “We know what you have.” When the residents still refused to hand over any information, the State Police let them know they could turn in anything violating New York law to the State Police. None of the residents we spoke to were threatened with legal action, and the interactions were between five and fifteen minutes.

Thinking of building a new rifle and it looks like Foundation stocks are very popular and I am curious as to why. They look great, but have limited adjustability/customizability compared to a chassis.

LMT took a dive!

Got home from work yesterday and decided to get the LMT .308 out of the safe to change batteries, lube and prep for range time this weekend. While removing a rifle that was in front of it and with my back turned, it took a dive, sliding out of the safe and hitting muzzle first into the floor of my shop, digging out a decent divit in the concrete. I nearly cried and was kicking myself because I normally close the safe door to prevent this from happening. I was expecting the worse when I picked it up; damage to the 15.5" upper, my optic the whole nine yards. But surprisingly I found only damage to the threads on the barrel. I immediately chased the threads with not much resistance noted. Do any of you think I've done any permanent damage to the barrel? I'll post picks when I get off work. I'm prob just being a worry-wart, but I just got this thing sighted in running sub-MOA and am getting ready for a hunt. I was also concerned about running my suppressor on it until I knew for sure. TIA

National emergency signed regarding potential cyber warfare

I have not confirmed this. Biden signed two executive orders in regard to cyber warfare and AI, AI when used in cyberwarfare can aparantly wreak havoc in a major way.. It would seem they are expecting cyber warfare on a scale not seen before that would result in infrastructure failures and supply chain failures that would not have easy fixes. Most cyber warfare is done for blackmail so it has fixes when the victim pays. AI cyber warfare would be designed so no fixes could be done even by the hostile party,

Newbie Suppressor Recommendation

I knew there were already so many threads about suppressor recommendations here and a lot of other forums but I still want some recommendations from the hide about getting my first suppressor.
1. I see a lot of people are big fans of TBAC but I wonder if they are still the best in today's market. I read reviews from Pew Science/various bro science/TBAC Summit 2023 and saw that its sound suppression level is outperformed by some newer designs such as Otter Creek, Diligent Defense, and Abel. I wonder if their accuracy level is also outperformed by those newer designs? or perhaps it is different guns like different suppressors kind of thing?

2. If TBAC is the ultimate answer, should I go with the U7 or the Dominus? I see the trend today being everyone making fatter suppressors and I see the result in the TBAC summit showing that the Dominus is much quieter than the U7. But what about the accuracy level of these two suppressors? And also do people run into the problem that they see the fatter Dominus in their scope?

I plan to only shoot bolt guns with the suppressor and I plan to use it for both benchrest and hunting. Thanks for any input!

GM Backtracks on Joe Biden’s Green Energy Agenda After Investing Billions

After investing billions to adhere to President Joe Biden’s green energy agenda, General Motors (GM) is backtracking on all fronts when it comes to Electric Vehicles (EVs).

As GM was the last of the Big Three to strike a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers (UAW), the automaker’s green energy dreams — championed by the Biden administration — have come crumbling down.

GM CEO Mary Barra, a close ally of Biden’s, has said the automaker will not begin to attempt to produce 400,000 EVs from 2022 through mid-2024 as initially planned. GM is also delaying retooling its plant in Orion Township, Michigan, to build EV pickup trucks.

Days ago, GM had to begin offering owners of its Chevy Bolt about $1,400 to install a diagnostic program to determine if the vehicle’s EV battery is defective. The move came after GM had to recall all of its Chevy Bolts due to the EV battery issues and a class action settlement over the battery problems is anticipated in the near future.

In addition, GM executives are having to delay launching a number of their EV models such as the Chevrolet Equinox EV, the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST, and the GMC Sierra EV Denali.

Those launch delays have coincided with GM and Honda ending their billion-dollar joint venture to produce affordable EVs for Americans as well as markets in South America and China.

The end of that joint venture comes as demand for EVs among Americans has plummeted with the all-electric cars staying on dealership lots for an average of 65 days — way up from last year’s average of about 21 days.

“The American public is not ready for the broad adoption of electric vehicles. There are maybe 10 percent to 12 percent of people who really want an electric vehicle … the remainder still want internal combustion,” former GM executive Bob Lutz said this week.

Aside from potential customers, auto workers at GM have largely been turned off EVs and Biden’s green energy agenda that seeks to foist them on the American public. As part of its deal with GM, the UAW made sure to bring the automaker’s EV plants into its tentative contract so that workers will score higher wages than currently.

GM executives had hoped to keep auto workers at its EV plants out of such contracts. Also significant is the deal’s strike provision which gives GM’s employees the right to strike whenever the automaker closes one of its plants.

While GM stumbles, China is ready to flood the U.S. market with cheap EVs.

Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Rebecca Mansour has long warned that without major investment in domestic manufacturing and auto workers, steep tariffs, and time for American automakers to adjust, China will dominate the EV industry.

“A Biden-led administration’s rapid push towards an all-electric future would rob U.S. auto workers of the advantage of experience and U.S. auto plants of the advantage of previously built manufacturing capacity,” Mansour wrote in October 2020. “… rushed and without tariffs, most of this will likely end up in China — just like all the rest of American manufacturing thanks to decades of failed trade policies like Joe Biden’s.”

China already has a major advantage over the U.S. in that it controls much of the EV lithium-ion battery supply chain including minerals such as nickel, graphite, lithium, and cobalt.
