Canted action/scope rail (side to side)

As I mentioned in the A.I. picture thread, I recently purchased an AXMC in 6.5CM.

After getting home and starting to put it together, when levelling the rifle, I noticed that the action/scope rail was canted side to side….to the point of being visible to the eye.
Ended up sending it back, it was away for 5 weeks and had a new rail installed.

Got it back the other day and while it’s not as severe as it was, it’s still canted.

I tend to get really hung up on small details like this, that ultimately don’t really matter. And I also had a less that satisfactory experience with A.I. customer service.

Is this even a problem/something you would worry about?

By my calculations, the rail is out by approx 0.3 - 0.4 degrees, with the mating surfaces of the rail-to-action 0.07mm out of square.

Sometimes I just need people to tell me to stop being an idiot 🤣

First Rifle, Advice Needed.

Hello everyone,
My first post, I’ll try to keep it short. I want to try long range shooting and possibly compete at club/local level. I am planning to get MPA BA PMR Pro 2 rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor, however yesterday I found Surgeon Scalpel 591R chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, 24” barrel and Magpul Pro stock. So I was wondering which rifle would you guys recommend? Are there other options, something readily available or with short wait/turnaround time and priced under $3000. Looking forward to reading your responses! Thank you very much!!!

SOLD Bighorn origin 223 BA

I bought action with 580 rounds on it and have shot no more than 700 rounds through it. Hammers 80 and 75 eldms with varget. Barrel is a prefit proof comp contour 1/7 twist 26" no barrel nut. Barrel was painted black when I got it. I took the paint off and you can tell it. Has swirls in the barrel. I will sell just BA or with a Burris rt25 5x25x56 mil scope. BA only $1250. BA and scope with rings $1825 shipped pp ff, venmo, zelle. Ship FFL to FFL. Selling just to help with another build.

Scope mag range for AR10 in 6.5 cm

Currently figuring out which scope to buy for my DD5V5 (20" 6.5 creed). I am fairly sure itll be a NF ATACR (still subject to change as a can get some good deals on zeiss/steiner/LP) but the real question is what mag range should I be getting? My goal is to have a gun thats capable out to 1k but will primarily be used in the 3-700 yard range. Is something like a 4-16 not enough? I know NF makes the ATACRs in a 4-20 as well. What do you guys think?

Accessories WTS: Terminus Zeus & WTT: MK5 pr1-illum

Everything has been really taken care of, it's all in good shape except what's been noted below.

I'd consider a trade for a ZCO 5-27 or the like (upgrade from the mk5 ;)) with my Zeus + MK5 5-25 PR1 Mil Illum. Scope. Probably the only trade I'd consider at the moment.

MK5 has the Spuhr SP-5002 & Flatline Ops bubble level.

Individual Prices:
  • Terminus Zeus QC SA .308 Bolt: $1500 - This is pretty much brand new. It had some rough machining near the raceways, sent it back to Joel, has a new bolt, fresh clean machining and a fresh DLC coat. 0 rounds since getting it back from Terminus and minimal dry fire.
  • KRG Whiskey 3 Rem700 Short Action Folding w/ Enclosed Forend & Adjustable Mag Release: $1100 - This is all a package, one of the screws in the forend are stripped, I don't have the skills/tools to remove it, have replacement screws, will ship with. SOLD
  • Proof Research SS 6.5 Creed Barrel <60 rounds, black Cerakote: $420 SOLD
  • Triggertech Diamond Single Stage Flat Face: $230 SOLD
  • Spuhr SP-5001: $310 (Includes original box + leveller) SOLD
  • Redding Type S Match Die Set #36446: $175 (unused) SOLD
I accept PayPal F&F (really prefer this option), G&S (if you have a good amount of feedback - and you pay fees if you choose this option), and Venmo.
I know it's not looked on super fondly around here, but I've got 40+ transactions selling things on r/GAFS and I think I've sold an optic or two on here.
If you'd like to verify you can reach out to me on reddit /u/Merk_Z

Thanks :)

Threading Chatter and ect.

Afternoon guys..

So I finally got my hands on a lathe... super dangerous I know. Before yall roll your eyes to hard I know enough to get myself into trouble. (Continue eye roll) Any how I've been trying to resolve what is left of my lathe chattering issue while threading. Its extremely mild chatter and it a longer pattern rather than short. It's a used enco lathe and I've adjusted spindle bearings, replaced the bearings in the motor which was a major cause of issues. (Installed rubber isolators as well on the motor.) Single phase 220 motor btw. Checked and adjusted ways for play. Machine is anchored to concrete floor and the ways are leveled with a machinist level as well. It may be the nature of the machine that I get chatter at low RPM while threading with HSS and Carbide Threading tools (bought from travers). I can get rid of the chatter at about 400 rpm but I sure as hell ain't got the nades to thread at those speeds. I wouldn't mind some input from some experienced guys on weather I can ever expect a quality thread finish out of this machine or techniques to help a guy that's a jack of all trades and a master of none. Thanks!

FYI you won't easily offend me and I rather hear the God honest truth if you have something worth while to type out.

Im a novice and need direction

Hey guys,
My name is Ben and I am brand spankin new to reloading. Im having some trouble. I am using a hornady lock n Load system, once fired lapua .308 brass with hornandy .308 dies. I have so far deprimed/ full resize, washed in hypersonic cleaner, trimmed, champered and deburred, and then placed new primers in the brass. This is where I need help. I have measured out my powder and fulled the brass with 40.0 grains of SW tactile rifle powder. I have followed youtube videos the entire time. I have previous reloaded using my buddies already set up stuff that worked without a problem. I have since moved across the country and acquired my own reloading equipment. I am trying to set up my seating Die and I am following instruction to fully raise case without a bullet and then put on seating dye until you get resistance and then back off one turn. I put the bullet on the powder filled brass and then bullet just falls straight on top of the powder, It wont seat properly. I am using 165-A-Max 30 caliber (.308) bullets. What am I doing wrong? Clearly the neck sizing is off. I even put some brass through the sizing die again. I feel the slightest resistance when putting the bullet in the neck of the case but when putting it through the seating dye it go all the way down. Please help diagnose this issue. I am trying to learn to reload so i can practice to work my way up to PRS (yes I know .308 isnt what I should be shooting in PRS... I will get a different caliber in the future.). Please help. I am very confused. Did i buy the wrong bullets? What am I doing wrong? it seems to me its the neck sizing but I dont know.

Burris XTR IIIi vs Brownells 3-18 MPO

Has anyone done a side by side on these two?
I looking to scope a fairly lightweight hunting rifle.
Right now, the MPO's are on sale, the 3-18 reticle isn't terrible.
I'd like a really decent scope that has decent glass, I've got a Bushy LRTSi 4.5-18 that I REALLY like and I am happy with the quality of the glass in that.
Rifle will be a origin medium length action, Mesa Precision Altitude stock with a Muller Works CF barrel in 7-08AI.

Meateater has gone full Commie (maybe)

This may come as no surpise to some of the more cynical among you but I was shocked to hear Steve Rinella openly discussing nullifying the entire Constitution and our system of government because "Some of the Founders owned slaves." It's on episode #455 of the Meateater Podcast (about 13 minutes in) if anyone is interested to hear the original content. I listened three times to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding. They were discussing the Audubon Society's supposed conversation around renaming themselves due to Audubon having owned slaves. Whatever, who cares about the stupid bird-watchers, it's a symptom of the bigger problem we have (Marxist invasion of EVERY SINGLE INSTITUTION) but kind of par for the course these days, as sad as that is.

I knew they had some leftist idiots on board with the company but what shocked me was that Rinella casually said "The end of this conversation will someday land on...do we throw away the Constitution because of what the people who wrote that (document) were up to." He goes on to state something to the effect of; "It's an interesting intellectual conversation because if we get rid of the Constitution, since the writers were slave owners, what would we use to interpret the law?"

He does not say how ridiculous an idea that is or defend the Constitution in any way, shape or form.

I will be cutting off all support for them and have written them, but just me doing that won't matter much. I don't think we change his opinion but I know a lot of patriotic American's that wear First Lite, use Phelp's game calls and watch his show. We need to stop, time to stop supporting these wolves in sheep's clothing.

I'm hopeful that companies like Thunderbeast (@Zak Smith) and Mile High Shooting will be publicly cutting ties with these anti-American Bozeman commies as well. Let's Jim Zumbo their traitorous asses.

Looks like Gaven is starting his campaign.

Run rabbit Gavin run. What a faggy POS. God help us if this guy gets elected.

Fanny Pack/Bum Bag/Lumbar Pack

Due to recently having a pacemaker fitted I am having to change how I carry my hunting kit as I can't use a daysack as the shoulder strap will put pressure on the unit. A shoulder bag would not be compatible with my bino harness so I have decided on a Fanny Pack/Bum Bag/Lumbar Pack.
I need a main compartment big enough to carry a foxpro caller. I also take a small flask of tea, a few snacks, deer skinning knives and a few other items. I think the total volume will need to be a minimum of 1000 cubic inches and being able to use it without shoulder straps is a must so it must fit well around the waist.
I do realise I will have to make compromises, but sadly I can't just throw everything in a bergan and just get on with it any longer.
Any advice would be warmly received, Philip
