SOLD SAKO TRG-42 chambered by GAP in 300 Norma

Full SAKO TRG-42 build in 300 Norma. All work was performed by GA Precision in 2015.

Only reason I’m selling is my neck can no longer take the recoil shooting prone anymore! It’s why I changed it from a 338 Lapua, and I’ve shot too many rounds over my lifetime. I’m over 60 now and just can’t handle the recoil like I used too!

27.25” Bartlein 1:8 twist Sendero contour, threaded metric, M18x1.0 same as original. 300 rounds down the barrel, mostly three shot groups, slow fire, only five or five + when I was testing it at the Nightforce ELR Match as a RO. Load is the 230 Berger behind 83.5 H1000 F215M in Norma brass going 2,975 f/s. Laser beam out to a mile, proven performer mostly used for hunting.

Comes with:
SAKO TRG Three ring 34 mm scope mount, built in 30 moa slope.
TRG Bipod
TRG muzzle brake
Extra TRG five round magazine
TRG 10 mm cheek riser (Tan)
Sinclair O-Ring bore rod guide
Savvy Sniper SAW Rifle Sling
68+ pieces of 1x Norma brass (SS Media cleaned, and FL sized)
Plus something like 100+ New Norma brass.

The rifle is in mint condition. Only two small camel hump Tan paint marks at the butt stock between the stock and spacer.

Not a single mark anywhere else.

Bolt has so little wear it’s hard to tell it’s a used gun!

No rust on the steel rings. Everything on this rifle works, functions, feeds and performs flawlessly in every manner. Best trigger for any application too!

$3,500.00 plus shipping and insurance costs from my local FFL to yours in the original SAKO TRG42 Box. It will be double boxed.

Accessories will be shipped separately.

Picked this up locally for a build that isn’t going to happen. Just trying to get out of it what I paid.

All work done by LRI

SA, standard bolt face
Threads, bolt face, and lugs trued
Threaded bolt handle
Pined larger recoil lug
8/40 scope base screws

SOLD shipped action only

Only trade would be for a 6.5 CM barrel for a defiance. Shoot me a pm with any questions. Thanks

Top 10 (rifle) hunting cartridges everyone should own

So I know there are literally no right or wrong answers, but I thought it'd be fun to see what everyone's opinion was.

My opinion will differ greatly than someone hunting whitetail over a food plot or from a tree or box, but here are my 10 favorite.

Smallest to largest:

1-22lr varmints like sage rats etc
2-223 for bigger varmints a bit farther away like coyotes etc.
3-243 varmint/antelope & deer cross over cartridge. Kids first "big" rifle.
4-30-30 not particularly awesome in any category, but still a classic cowboy cartrige that is fun to shoot, & can get er done on most critters at reasonable ranges.
5- 308 great ladies or kids all round cartridge
6- 270 North American all round cartridge with light recoil {I'm partial to the WSM}
7- 30-06 North American all round cartridge with more bullet selection. All time classic.
8- 300mag (take your pick) I prefer Win Mag, or WSM, but am fond of Wby too. Best all round caliber ever. Period. Ya I'm opinionated. But, I'm right too.:D
9- 338 (again pick one){I prefer Win Mag version} but depending on chambering, its today's "go to" LR (caliber) to which all others are compared. And it's plenty of medicine at most any range for anything in Anything on North America with Strong constitution, or a mean streak.
10- 375 (H&H, Wby,what ever, take your pick) {im an ol' H&H fan}everything else including Africa

So what are your favorites let see?

Brass sometimes get stuck in chamber in bolt rifle

Hello all,
Was wondering if someone can share some light how to fix my problem. So I have a reload that I’m doing shooting a suppressed .308win
42.7 Varget ccibr2 Lapua brass Hornady eldx 178 grain bullets.

Sometimes I can cycle easy other times the handle lifts easy but my brass gets stuck in the chamber. I have to pull the bolt extremely hard to eject my case. What can be the culprit? I’m using a Wilson fl sizing die with a bushing. I’m thinking either the base of the cartridge is getting stuck or the neck. Will annealing fix this issue? Is it because I’m shooting suppressed? Is it cus I’m bumping the shoulder to far back? Has anyone experienced this issue before? It’s strange because even with lighter loads (42 grains I can experience the same thing)

Maximum range of standard velocity 22LR

Around WWII, US army conducted time consuming and exhausting tests on several brands of 22 LR ammo with MV=1050-1100 ft/s. In conditions close to standard atmosphere, at sea level, the maximum range obtained for 40 grainers was approximately 1400 yards with bore elevation 25-30°. This was a looong time ago. Have they repeated the tests in modern times of radars aviability with 22 LR ammo manufactured not so long ago?

Suppressors The Alpha Class of Suppressor Covers - Liberty's Defense

I've gone through a few suppressor covers in the years I've owned suppressors and the best (IMHO) is from Liberty's Defense, they have a unique thermal technology along with a solid lockup method (no more shooting your suppressor 25 feet out from the bench cause the cover slipped and a bullet catches the edge). And right now they are offering 15% off for Veterans Day.

Thank you to all of our veterans and we hope everyone has a great Veterans Day! We appreciate your support and for trusting us to make you the best products possible to fit your specific needs. Click on the photo above to link to our webstore and use the code veterans-day-15 to get 15% off regular priced items now through Sunday 11/12/2023.

Take care and I am happy to be at your service!

Best Regards,
Christopher Hall

Torn on which AI to get.....used and new

Considering a couple of used AT's and a used AXSA but with the Eurooptic sale, I can get a new AT with folder at a great price with sales tax included.

Does the AXSA offer any real advantages over the AT's?

I have no plans to compete and really like the AT for my needs but the AXSA is sexy AF. Still, I think I'll only pay more for it if it brings some advantages operationally.

Have You Gotten More Conservative Or Liberal As You've Grown Older?

We all know the old saying of "if you're young and not Liberal you have no heart, but if you're old and not Conservative you have no brains", but I was curious where everyone stands on that. Have you gotten more Conservative or Liberal as you've grown older? For me I've only gotten more Liberal on one thing and that is drug legalization. Everything else I have gotten more Conservative.

The political climate in the US.

So…….

I have noticed over the last month that the outcry against our government has increased. I’m not talking against one party or the other but the entire government. I’m also not talking about individual that I run into or people on forums. I’m talking about media organizations. At first it popped up in some podcasts.
The first was from ex-intel guys. It was mild at first and is progressing more in the direction of more aggressiveness. Then it popped up in a more “ mainstream” podcast which is turning more aggressively in that direction. So much so that one comment really struck me.
Now I’m seeing it slowly creeping into some of the “ msm “ networks. It’s popping up in places I really didn’t expect it, like business segments.

Anyone else noticing this?
