Mayor Eric Adams (D) has declared illegal immigration, at its current pace, “will destroy New York City — warning New Yorkers “every service in this city” will have to be cut and that migrants will “come to your neighborhoods.”


During a townhall on the Upper West Side on Wednesday, a visibly frustrated Adams said the arrival of 110,000 border crossers and illegal aliens since the spring of last year will lead to the destruction of New York City as waves of illegal immigration have continued unabated under President Joe Biden’s watch.


“Let me tell you something New Yorkers: Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City, destroy New York City. We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month,” Adams said:

One time we were just getting Venezuela, now we’re getting Ecuador, now we’re getting Russian-speaking coming through Mexico, now we’re getting Western Africa, now we’re getting people from all over the globe have made their minds up that they’re going to come through the southern part of the border and come into New York City. [Emphasis added]
And everyone is saying, ‘It’s New York City’s problem.’ Every community in this city is going to be impacted. We have a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us.

Radio host and shock-jock Howard Stern admitted that coronavirus paranoia recently sparked a fight with his wife, who seemingly does not share his alarm.
During a Wednesday episode for his SiriusXM radio show, Howard Stern said that while he has been more active in recent days, the new coronavirus strain has made him paranoid and “neurotic.” The topic came up when a radio caller asked if Stern found it risky to conduct his radio show from the studio in the wake of a new coronavirus strain.
“I’m going crazy with this. My wife yelled at me last night. We got into a fight,” he said. “You know how paranoid I am about getting COVID. I haven’t gotten it, and I’m pretty safe, and I really don’t want to get it.”
Stern feared that he would be one of the coronavirus cases who end up in the hospital or worse.
“Everyone goes, ‘Don’t worry, it’s just a cold for me.’ It’ll probably be way worse. You know what I mean? I mean, I’m the lucky one who will completely fall apart,” he said.
Stern discussed how the age difference between him and his wife (he’s 69; she’s 51) causes a strain when coronavirus pops up.
“You know, my wife’s considerably younger than me, as you might have heard. And you know, she’s not as concerned about getting COVID as I am, because, you know, I’m an older dude,” he said.
“Beth has a bunch of plans. She has like a wedding shower to go to and lunch to go to with a friend and a dinner and a blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So, you know, we’re really making an effort. We go out to restaurants. We went to the Ed Sheeran concert. We’ve really been out there. I haven’t gotten COVID. And I’m like, you know what? If I get it, I get it,” he added. “Then all of a sudden they announce there’s a new strain of COVID and it’s on the rise. And, you know, people are being hospitalized. ‘It’s time to go back down into lockdown.’ And I’m like, you mean I’m just emerging, and now I’m going back into lockdown!”
Stern said that the argument erupted when he shared his coronavirus concerns with his wife.
“She goes, ‘That’s what you do. Every time I say I’m going to do something, you bring up COVID,'” Stern said of his wife’s words, prompting him to reply, “I’m just telling you, I’m scared. Am I wrong?”
“I’m just expressing my fear to you, and I’m scared,” he added.
Stern admitted that he has “neurotic” issues, which his co-host Robin Quivers described as a “person with no real problems, but who makes them up.”
“Yeah. I make a ton of problems,” Stern admitted.

Not sure where I went wrong, I watched so many videos, got advice on here, took every precaution I could, and now the barreled action is stuck in the stock.

Here’s the setup zermatt origin, manners TA elitetac, Hawkins Hunter dbm

Here’s what I did: taped a few inches forward of the action to center the barrel. Taped the stock from front of recoil lug hole and about 4” forward, (regular tan masking tape if that matters). I’ll attach a photo of where it’s all taped so it makes sense. Taped front and sides of recoil lug. Clay in the trigger hole, clay in the trigger pin slots, clay in the little hole where the lug is pinned. Waxed areas in the mag well and trigger well and everywhere else on the stock I didn’t want bedding. One shot on the action and barrel up to the taped part beyond the tape on the stock (2 coats with time between them). Bedded with probed for action, pillars and bottom metal.

Here’s where I’m at: Action is stuck in stock. Now the bottom metal came free (although it was tight) so I’m fairly confident the release agent worked just fine. But the action absolutely will not budge. I’ve cleaned up the excess that was in the mag well hole and it has come off the action quite easily, and not quite as easily in the stock parts that were waxed but rough, couple hits with the chisel fixed that real quick though. I’m assuming the issue is just a very tight bed because everything is coming off the areas I can access that had release agent on them, but I could be wrong of course. I just feel like if i pull any harder I’m risking breaking the stock, it’s getting some flex in the forarm with the ammount of pressure I’m trying already. I suppose the bedding could have run up the barrel channel past the tape but that seems unlikely given that it only gooped out the first inch or so infront of the lug. I can’t image where there could be a mechanical lock given the careful clay application and visually unobstructed feed lips. I’ve been bouncing the rifle on it’s butt pad on the ground with little to no progress made. I’ve been tapping at the accessible parts of the bottom of the action with a punch but I don’t think I can hit it any harder without tearing up the metal. So I’m at a loss at this point. Everything I’ve read on here says put it in the freezer, but mine isn’t big enough for a rifle so I’d have to find a friend with room to spare that wouldn’t mind me using theirs, and my deadblow hammer is inside a pickup that’s at the ford house for repairs.

So my question is if anyone has any suggestions to try before I go asking around to use some freezer space or is that absolutely the best way to go about this?

ive been using PIG gloves for shooting/hunting/general thin gloves that are easier to handle things than the yellow rawhide construction gloves.

i really like the PIG gloves but i seem to be good with them for a couple of months of regular use and then the seems on the fingers blow out and they are worthless. Im not an operator or high speed guy but id like some dexterous gloves that are better quality than the PIG gloves. also, they have gotten more expensive like eveyrthing else.

are mechanix gloves the way to go? i dont really need the knuckle protection of the high speed oakley gloves but ill take all suggestions.

Why are ALL these posts suddenly showing up with the punctuation spaced after the word? It isn’t happening to everyone, just some accounts. It’s not like a fat finger typo or something, because it’s that way top to bottom.

Here is an example of what I’ve noticed : the punctuation is offset by a space . I’ve seen my talk to text do this when driving , sometimes it corrects , sometimes not , but I have never seen talk to text do it here . Is that what it is ? Are guys all suddenly using talk to text ? Is there a glitch or an update quirk with some TTT programs ? Is it AI ? What say you , because it’s everywhere now ?
