With barrel lengths increasing I’ve heard some people say that once you go above 23”+ you need to start looking at faster ammo, not super sonic but, the likes of lapua long range, Sk long range match, etc.

Any thoughts or experience with this.

Oversized Tactical Bolt Knob done by Short Action Customs.

This unit has the AIF free spinning Elevation and Windage Turret caps, Tenebraex scope caps, and stackable sun shade. The scope is in excellent condition but has a few beauty marks. The Windage and illuminator knobs have some faint rub marks. I tried to capture this in some of the attached pictures. It was mounted to a 6mm GT long range setup. The glass and rest of the body are clean and everything functions flawlessly. This scope sells new for $5,545. Asking $3,700 shipped CONUS.

I have an excellent shape Short Action Customs built barreled action. SAC Alpha 11 action (defiance deviant) nitrided with a 20” fluted Bartlein MTU chambered in 308. Barrel twist is 1:10 with 5/8x24 threads and thread cap. Round count is around 800 all factory ammo.

I just started shooting out to 100 yards and getting used to the distance. My best 5shot group of the day was ~0.5" using SK standard plus. The rest were between 0.75 - 1.00"

I know I'd be better off using something like SK long range, but I can't find any at the moment..so SK standard is I have currently to practice with.

I case you haven't seen it yet. Here is a video on the new Cortina Precision HS Full Length sizing dies. He has taken a little different approach than others by using the bushing to set the shoulder. But you are going to pay for it. The die body can be used for several cartridges so the cost may not be too bad if you load several different cartridges in the same case family.
