I'm not sure I'd settle out of court.

Given how the situation ended I hate to say it but this isn't time to settle out of court. I just hope they can find some evidence that shows the problem was known for a long time.

To ARC or not to ARC...

So I'm looking to build another AR style rifle and am on the fence between one chambered in .223 Wylde (all of my current ones are 5.56) or the 6mm ARC. From what I've read on the 6mm ARC it is best for reloaders due to the fact that only hornady is currently making ammo. I do not reload. Yet. That's a rabbit hole I have not crawled into. So I'd have to rely on factory ammo. I like the 5.56 round but am looking for a round with a bit more reach since I have access to ranges up to 1k. I plan to jump into a bolt gun at some point... but I've always been fond of the gas gun.

Digital Platform Communication Act of 2023 - Huge Tyrannical Powers!!

I can't believe I hadn't heard about this!! The Digital Platform Commission Act of 2023 goes beyond the Ministry of Truth; this is a must watch! We need to watch if this passes in ANY form.

A new bill proposed in the U.S. will allow the government to track users online and allow so-called “disinformation experts” to rule on what are called “behavioral codes.” The Digital Platform Commission Act of 2023 would establish a new federal agency that could “organize hearings, investigations, assess fines and establish rules through engagement in public rule-making.” The agency could designate some platforms as being more important than others and subject those to extra oversight and regulation.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Better "Anti-Social" shotguns today? Beretta, Benelli, other?

I have short CQB-friendly Pump-actions covered for contact distance encounters. Today, I really need to investigate the current crop of premium semi-auto combat shotguns.

I hear a lot of 'Mall Ninjas" talk about the Benelli M-4 but I wonder if the juice is worth the squeeze. I'm initially thinking of a Beretta 1301 but, I hear the new A300 Patrol is good too. Then there are the custom options from shops like Wilson Combat. With the Remington bankruptcy with Freedom Group, I'm not considering a worked over 1187 today. I expect to spend more than $1,000 and would like to stay under $2,000. NFA is an option but, I really think I should stay away from tax stamps for this purchase.

Basically, I want to 'pay once and cry once' so trying to cheap out a few hundred dollars and having buyer's remorse that I didn't get something else is also a consideration since these are so expensive.

I live in a rural part of Texas and I'm about a 1/4 mile from the public road. Since I moved here, two animal hoarders have moved in and I have been attacked by dogs three times so, these days I am generally armed when doing chores or outside in general. The Meth House burned to the ground from Arson after the Meth Head was evicted.

Typically I have been using a rifle which is great for shooting dogs at 200 yards but, fields of fire are pretty restrictive with other people living in the area and livestock in adjacent pastures. I think a shotgun with appropriate loads is really a better option for me these days so, here I am. Basically, I want a quality shotgun that is capable of really rapid fire without disrupting my aim excessively and limiting my lethal range a bit. I'm thinking I will want to keep effective stopping power to about 50 yards with power falling off afterward either through physics, hitting the ground, etc. while still retaining good lethality when closer in. In my Pump shotgun, I am primarily running Hornady Coyote BB loads right now but, I have run #4, #1, and 00 Buck in the past generally in low recoil formats.

So, who runs a "social" shotgun today, and what recommendations do people have for me?

TIA,
Sid

Thanks Google

Not that is has to be said, I'm sure MANY already have these thoughts but I'll just say it myself.

Fuck you Google. It's Memorial Day so you apply your dedication to U.S.A. by just leaving your slate blank.
We get it. You're bought and sold on anything BUT being an American. I'm sure next month you will be going out of your way to "embrace" those you care about.

Need Info On Possible Fake Recon Sniper

Hello, 1st I searched around to try and find the correct area to ask this question. So if it doesnt belong here, please forgive me. Now from what I understand for it to be stolen valor a few things must happen. So I'm not 100% sure, but he definitely is using this to gain trust.

I live in NJ and few us of joined this neighborhood watch group cause things are starting to get bad. The guy that created this group is named Ed. My concern is, he is using this story of "I'm a Marine" to convince people he is billy bad a@*, gain their trust, and take donations to "support" the group. If you met this guy just once, he is good at convincing people but if you hang with him long enough you can see things dont add up. One of the stories he tells, when he 1st joined the Marines, the gun instructor, pulled back a curtain and said "have at it boys" and there was a display of all kinds of weapons. So he grabbed a 50. cal Barret and hit the target 150yds dead center. And after instructor witnessed his shot, moved him to recon sniper.

I never was in the military and from what I've seen in movies and etc, they are very strict...so the pulling back a curtain and letting new recruits shoot whatever gun they want, sounds crazy! It sounds like a scene outta a movie, but only you guys would know if this is kinda true or not.

There are a handful of stories but another one that stuck out as really bad is the following...He was talking about being over-seas as a reconnaissance sniper. I said it must have been hard to deal with IED's and never knowing when you might come across one...his reply: "Bro you see them, thats the CRAZY thing. Thats why they are called IED's...Identified Explosive Device"

I can see a regular person making that mistake of a calling it "Identified"....but shouldnt a Marine get it correct? In my mind, that sort of thing is drilled into their heads, so MANY times....how they are made, what they look like, what they are called, etc etc...Or is it a honest mistake?

He mentioned he had two MOS's. 2178 and 3778. He is 40 years old and said he joined after watching the twin towers come down, at 18 years old. Maybe he was in a different branch, like army or etc...or maybe he tried to join the Marines but got kicked out for medical. If it turns out to be true then I will be first to say I was wrong but something about all these stories and how he carries himself, that I find it very difficult to believe.

If someone here can please try and help or maybe point me in the right direction to find this info out would be very helpful. As mentioned we are a small group, trying to keep our community safe. And last thing we need is to find out this guy was lying and possibly stealing donations.

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Richie

Best place to buy ARC MBrace Rings / Mount

Hey everyone,

I'm just getting back into hobby shooting after a long absence and I don't know all the best places to get things anymore. I know most places run sales for Memorial Day and while I feel a certain way about that, I also wouldn't mind a sale because I have several sets I need to buy and things get pricey, fast. With all that being said it seems Brownells has a 15% off for Memorial Day Sale, but if there is somewhere better/cheaper or a vendor or something that works with the Hide, that would be my preference. Any ideas? I've also been watching the PX but you never know when deals are going to pop up or not there! Thanks everyone!
