Guy stabs five river tubers, one fatally, in Wisc.

Five people were stabbed with a knife while tubing on the Apple River in Somerset Saturday afternoon, the sheriff said.

A 17-year-old boy from Minnesota was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Knudson said.

The four other victims are hospitalized in critical condition, he said. Two victims were transported out of the hard-to-reach area by helicopter.

The suspect is a 52 yr. old engineer and is white, very white, as is pointed out in the report and a far Right wing gun enthusiast.
And boy, do they point that out. He even was pictured with an American flag.

The Old Man

Anyone watched it ? . The Old Man .. with, Jeff bridges and John Lithgow . Did not see it mentioned here ?
On the Season-1 , Was pretty unexpected quality and solid story line and a Good watch .
Only bad thing for me was absolute zero closure and you have to hold-over a year for season 2 for ending . And only one real Hokey scene, with a Mini Windrunner Covert pulled out of the trunk of car and shooting down a drone,...lol , but that why they call it fiction.
.

Night Vision Pvs 30

Ball Powder History and Advancements

Really good read with some good info on advancements in new ball powder that solve the temp sensitivity issues of the past compared to extruded stick powder...its called "Accu Flat" and they say "This family of powders matches Hodgdon’s Varget, H4350, H1000 and Retumbo for charge weight, performance and temperature sensitivity. Initial reports from the industry indicate that this propellant also offers high levels of accuracy."

Looking forward to testing this new ball powder....would be great for Dillons

Rifle Scopes First impression of the Gen3 6-36x Razor

Just got one this week. Didn't bring my Gen 2 to compare. The power ring is smooth, but parallax is stiff as hell. I wish the locking turrets locked in the up position firmer. Optics look great. The new turrets are easy to zero but there is a difference between the two. The elevation turret has more audible clicks. I was told the turret issue was resolved on these new ones.

What's going on here?

I recently purchased 20 pieces of once fired Alpha OCD 6GT brass to supplement the 200 pieces (199 after sacrificing one piece to an AMP annealer) that I had purchased prior for my new 6GT barrel. I decided to load up the 20 pieces with a similar load, although different bullet, to my other pieces and "fire form" them to my chamber prior to annealing and adding to the rotation of my other 199 pieces. Those are all on their third firing after annealing after two firings since new. All was going well, see below, until the last 7-8 rounds fired. As you can see, the last seven rounds began to move down. I had the Magnetospeed attached and there was essentially no change in speed. My initial fear was 1. that there was a baffle strike, 2. Magnetospeed strike, or 3. the reticle in my scope had moved. I decided to take the rifle back to the range and shoot some rounds of known quality to see what I could find after inspecting the baffles on the suppressor and the Magnetospeed wand with no indication of any kind of strike.

Continued below pic.

IMG_0188.jpeg

After shooting the first five rounds, I was relieved to see that my zero had actually not changed and all looked good. Until I shot the second five rounds which seemed to move again. (see below). I continued with another five rounds after making minor adjustments to elevation and windage (after turning the turrets a few rotations and returning them to the 'new' zero) and the group tightened back up but moved to where I had adjusted. Then I returned my turrets to the old "zero" and all was well again for the last two groups of five rounds.

So, what's going on? Is it just me and my POI changing due to slight adjustment for the different target via Chris Way's POA/POI change due to different angle of sight from the shooter? I've always noticed a slight change of POI with the different dots in the past as well. I've 'decided' that it was due to the slight angle of change in POA due to not moving my position, just adjusting the rifle on the bench, again via Chris Way's observations/teachings.

USPS Division created solely for Mail in ballots...

Well, I’m afraid the time has come and gone. See article below. We all know about Mail in ballots and I think most of us here agree that they are way too likely to be manipulated, votes stolen and so on. We agree that it’s something that shouldn’t be allowed. However, it would seem, at no surprise, that the gov is going all in and has a new division at the post office devoted to nothing other than main in ballots. What does that tell you?

As I’ve said, those who control the enforcement control the outcome. It’s about that time.

Do you think they would make this today?

Rummaging through some stuff and out pops this stamp mint set from 1975. Many have the theme of the bicentennial we're about to celebrate the next year.
Low and behold a stamp that celebrates the American Militia. What a difference a few decades makes, could they do it again today?
Kinda hard having a stamp for what they now call domestic terrorists.

Help troubleshooting low 6.5 creedmoor velocity

Hello all -

It seems I’m getting pretty low comparative velocities with some reloads and I’m hoping someone can help me troubleshoot why.

TL;DR I think it’s the choice of powder, and looking for potential confirmation.

Gun:
Ultimatum Deadline action
Hawk Hill 24” - ~600 rounds through it

Load:
Hornady 140 BTHP
Hornady once fired brass cut to 1.910-1.915
CCI 400 primers (not the best but have worked fine for me lately given availability)
Accurate 4350 - min 40.4 gr, max 41.8 gr in .2 increments

Results of ladder test:
1. 2401
2. 2426
3. 2448
4. 2474
5. 2463
6. 2500
7. 2521
8. 2529

Based on my searching and reading about 140 gr 6.5 with Accurate 4350, I think I should be getting about 2700 fps with 41.8 gr.

I have worked up loads with 147 ELDM that shoot true to expectations out of the same once fired brass, and factory loads shoot true enough to their stated velocities for me to rule out the barrel
having lost velocity and the chrono (magnetospeed v3) having issues.

Is accurate 4350 just not good at getting high velocities with this cartridge?

Or am I making a mistake elsewhere.

Thank you!
