Sadly, the area kinda sucks. Montgomery county shooting complex has out to 400. There is a public range at LBL that is ok. Private property is the only good option in the area. Rock castle is 2 hours north and K&M is 2 hours south though, which are awesome but difficult to get into for a range...

I can see the disappointment of some of you guys, but I see it as they can work out their 1-8 bugs before making a nicer model which I will have more confidence in buying knowing they have worked the bugs out on the low end model.

Take a look at the latest middleweight scope thread. If you scroll down to where he looks at the new bushnell you will see it on an ar-10 in the ARC one piece mount. Notice how close the turret housing is to the front ring. So I guess it works but isn't perfect...

Docmedic, i agree with you that a gap-10 is a better choice if accuracy is your first concern. About price, don't forget that the larue comes with a adjustable gas block, nice trigger, and better stock, all of those are upgrades for the gap-10, making the price about equal. Sent from my iPhone...

I have a 20" 6.8spc pac-nor barrel on an ar-15 that was chambered by ar-15 performance. it shoots sub moa with my hand loads and has shot .5 moa at 400 quite a few times. +1 for pac-nor.

Here we go again (and once again i love mine and am not a hater), but hate to see people gimp other cartridges to make theirs look better. It is not a 200 fps advantage for 6.5C you quoted from a 24" barrel, so a 6.5C 120g from a 24" barrel is more like 400+fps faster. that is significant. hell...
