    We talk about having matches here. I have a 250 yard rimfire range on my place. Lots of interest, but when it comes time to shoot only 3 or 4 folks actually show up.

    That's something to be proud of, Joe. A few of us around here shoot 200 & up, sometimes with good results! The Kansas winds make it hard to do most of the time, but it is good practice.

    Re: Cheek piece idea Velcro works. I used it along with a formed piece of aluminum on my Remington 597 for awhile. It worked so good that I left it on for my summer long turtle hunting escapades.

    17 HMR?

    Re: 17 HMR? My Savage .17 HMR likes CCI ammo slightly more than the Hornady. I haven't tried any Winchester. Pretty much one hole at 50 yds & about 1/2" at 100. The .17 is a great rimfire caliber.

    Re: 22 trace through scope? I can see the bullet a lot of the time, but I don't ever remember seeing a trace. I seems to help with the sunlight coming frome behind. Watching the bullet fly into the target is kinda' fun.
