I live in NE Ohio and am looking for a reputable smith who does superb work on precision rifles. I’m looking for one who can chamber, flute, thread, crown and properly swap barrels for my bolt-action rifle. I would prefer one in Ohio, but one of the surrounding states works as well.

Does bushing a firing pin change a rifle’s headspace to the point of it becoming unsafe, excessive, detrimental to accuracy, etc.? Should I wait to have the pin bushed until I’m ready to rebarrel? From the research I’ve done, it seems that custom shops (LRI, Gretan) either mention the topic or...

just picked up a rifle that Hide member Parga (del valle gunsmithing) put together for me. He's done a couple for me and does great work. I had a used 700 action, Obermyer barrel (20" deep flutted), and McM A5 for Ray to work with.
