Are You Using The Same Hearing Protection For Both Handgun And Rifle Shooting?

I am wondering what hearing protection you use for both handgun and/or rifle shooting? Currently using the Peltor TacSport earmuffs. Wondering if there's something "better," for shooting multiple firearm platforms (ie handgun, AR, bolt action) ?

Mils vs MOA the Definitive Reason "Why"

Both Mils and MOA are an Angle. They were intended to operate as angles and while all angles have linear equivalents, when it comes to shooting there is no reason to use the linear value. We have moved beyond needing to figure the straight line distance. They were always meant to work as an...

Which .17 HMR Rifle do you recommend?

I had a semi-auto and decided I wanted a bolt action. It will probably be primarily a paper puncher but I may use it on varmints too. I would appreciate recommendations from those who own one. Thank you.

Advanced Marksmanship SAC Zero for Light Rifle?

Have any of you put a Standard Atmospheric Zero on your light rifle (.308 or match rifle)? If so, have you made new calculations on a zero sheet for new locations? I would be interested on what tables you are using for the effects of barometer and temperature on your new sight settings.

Rifle Scopes Same glass for every rifle???

I'm just curious how many people prefer to have the same glass on top of all of their rifles or if it makes any difference? Personally, I prefer to have the same glass on all my rifles, but I also think consistency breeds accuracy and familiarity and therefore is one less thing I have to worry...

    new rifle "BUILD"

am i the only one annoyed with the fact that a guy buys a rifle, scopes it, adds a bipod, buys some ammo, then calls it a build, posts it on the forums and then tricks me into wasting my time reading the description of the new mossberg they just put a scope on and a couple of pics of nice 2"...

    Rifle dilemma

I used to own a 700PSS in .308, but sold because the longest range I have access to is 300 yards, with little wind, and it didn't make much sense for that round. My only precision rifle at the moment is RRA Varmint A4 with Leupold MK4 4.5-14. It has proven reliable and I shot it out to 500 yards...

Am I slow today? do I need this rifle

I just walked away from a early Remington 700 308 ADL in excellent condition, rifle is 168xxx with short bolt shroud, high safety and square stripper cut. Do I slap myself senseless and go right back and buy it. Problem is I have just spent a lot recently of stocks, scopes, ammo and the likes...

    newbie needs help building rifle

Hello all, I've used various pistols and revolvers, as well as black "ammo eating" rifles, for over 20 years now, but I don't have a lot of experience with precision, distance bolt guns other than standard factory deer rifles. Having hung out here at Sniper's Hide for a few months I'm feeling...

Hunting & Fishing horse scabbard for tactical type rifle

Has anybody seen a rifle scabbard designed for horseback that will accomodate a heavy (12lb) rifle with a large optic, big turrets, and maybe a bipod? I'm looking for something with more protection rather than quick access.

Trying to get rifle velocities out of a pistol...

My 'Smith called me the other day and said he had something I had to see. He said he has an XP 100 in 260Rem that someone tried to get rifle velocity out of. Ya, that pegged my interest so I headed to his shop. I dont know the particulars of the load, but the owner mentioned something to the...
