I decided to make this for anybody looking for information about torque for Spuhr QD scope mounts. Spuhr recommends 5Nm / 44inlb for the rail mounting screws. I have a Hazet 0.6 to 9Nm adjustable torque wrench and I have few times tried torquing it higher than what I am using it now. So...
Hi all. I am currently in the process of mounting a nightforce rail onto my Remington 700 SPS tactical and wanted to know what torque wrench would be suitable and do a good job. I am currently considering the Wheeler Engineering F.A.T. driver off of Amazon for 50 bucks, but if there is...
being from a world of glued in actions (benchrest), I have never been concerned with torquing action screws. I have recently read that even with piller bedded actions it is recommended to torque them to 65 lbs. I have torqued my rings and bases for years and thoroughly understand the value...
how much torque should I use on.. nightforce picitinny rail on savage action and the action screws on the HS Precision stock. I suspect that the actions screws would be the same on all hs stocks..65IN/LB??
I am about to attach a scope to a .22LR, but I will not be able to afford the Seekonk torque wrenches for another month or two. Meanwhile, I'd like to get some practice in. Are there any tricks to estimate the torque values by hand? EGW recommends 20"lbs for the base and the rings are Seekins...
I recently purchased a set of Seeking 30mm scope rings. I received no torque specs. Looking for advice as to what to torque for mounting and the the rings. Thanks in advance.

I tried multiple searches to find the recommended torque spec for a Badger M5 on a McMillan, but only found one posts that recommended "53 in. pounds" and "60 in. pounds". Can someone assist? It's pillar bedded if that changes anything.
Hello, Can someone recommend a good torque screwdriver for scope mounting purposes (15 in/lbs. - 30 in/lbs.), and also another for action screws which I believe need to be 65 in/lbs.? Thanks.
I've been working on my shooting technique, but I'm having what seems to be excessive torque on the bolt lift once I've fired a round. I tried to keep my cheekweld and lift the bolt and I felt a slight pop in my shoulder- burned for about 3 hours. What is causing this added torque during a...
Well, i also just realized that I don't ahve a torque wrench that goes down to 20 in/lbs, lowest I have is 25 in/lbs. So, how critical is it that I use a torque wrench for the base. I obviously don't want to overtorque, but I don't want to undertorque it either, and what about the rings...
I just got it from Brownells for under $30. It is a T-handle unit with a clutch that slips at 25 inlbs. It only fits Torx T15 screws. I was putting a scope on a LTR and gave it a try. If this is what 25 inlbs feels like-I have been over doing it for years.
I notice that some of you use a torque wrench to snug your scope rings down. Can you recommend a suitable example that won't break the bank? Where did you purchase it? Ballpark price? Thanks..............
I recently had to remove my McMillan stock from my 40X receiver. I spilled some bore cleaner on the action and it ran underneath.....I was worried it would eat up the bedding. Anyways, can anyone tell me the torque specs for the three bolts? Starting from the big one that goes through the...
