High back pressure suppressed semi. Clean / lube ?

Anyone just douche everything out with gun scrubber then once clean and dry hit with hornady dry lube ?
Seems like for guns that are shot and then set a while before being shot again , rubbing them wet just makes them gum up after they set.

What is your cleaning and lube procedure for suppressed semi autos ?

Oh and how much accurate barrel life will you have if you shoot 30-40 rounds in 120 seconds ?

I’m having issues zeroing my rifle

I’m having issues with the grouping of my rifle. I know something is wrong. The gun is a LWRC IC-DI 556. The optic im using is a Steiner T432 prism. I went to the range today with 90 rounds of Norma 233 55 grain FMJ. I was doing a 100 yard zero. I sand bagged the front of the gun. I torqued everything to manufacture spec and put paint pen on all points of movement. I’m not impressed with the groupings.

I’ve had the same problem previously with this exact rifle and optic setup. I first zeroed the rifle with spam can 55 grain Tula and basically had the same thing happened but just with a wider inconsistent spread that was a few inches wider, compared to Norma. With everyone’s experiences what’s going on with my grouping. Im having a consistent wide spread.

SOLD BNIB Thunderbeast Magnus

Up for grabs is a BNIB Thunderbeast Magnus (Black), this is on a Form 3. Unit is brand new, see TB's specs below:

- The MAGNUS is the quietest .30 cal suppressor on the market for everything -- .223's, 6mm's, 6.5mm's, 7mm's, and .30's -- up to .300 Norma Magnum. The only thing quieter is a 338 ULTRA GEN2, which is larger.

The MAGNUS-SR shares the same SR (Secondary Retention) mount as our Dominus-SR, Dominus-K-SR, and 338 ULTRA SR. This model is 0.70-inch longer and 2.9 ounces heavier than the CB version. This version has the same Hard-Use/Full-Auto as the DOMINUS-SR, ie, Lifetime to exceed at least 10 SURGE cycles on a 10.5" M4 / MK18. The other versions of the MAGNUS are NOT full-auto rated due to the mount being insufficient.

$1550 Shipped. PP via gift or add 3.5% for fees.

Firearms Long action R700 308 M24 style barreled action

I’ve had this around for a while but it’s at the FFL now and ready to ship. It’s unfired since it was built because I never bothered dropping it in a stock. Built by Precision Rifle Co.

It features the correct Lilja 1:10 twist barrel, finished 24” and threaded 5/8x24. Everything is cerakoted FDE. Action has been trued with new .250” recoil lug.

This is built on a LONG action. No trigger included but the thread protector will be on there.

$1,400 shipped to your FFL. No trades on this one.

For those who want Real Firepower

Rail guns, used in experiments at Eglin AFB

on one experimental shot Windows were shattered and metal doors were ripped from their frame in the community. Since Eglin is 2/3rds the size of Rhode Island, and towns are located a miles from the Eglin test sites, one can imagine just how powerful these weapons were.

Want some real long range power?

I have a XLR Element 4.0 MG and a MPA Matrix chassis, both inlet for Rem 700 LA pattern actions. Seeing as I have the chassis' picked out already, looks like the BAT Vampire is out of the race.

The Matrix I'll use for precision shooting 6.5 PRC and/or 7 PRC. In this setup I'll care less about weight, maybe even adding weight to the chassis to offset the weight lost in the action, if needed/desired.

Depending where I go hunting, I'll use the XLR chassis with a 16-20" 308 barrel and an Accurate Mag 308 LA magazine (https://accurate-mag.com/shop/magazines/308-win-long-action-sssf-magazine/) or a 6.5 PRC/7 PRC barrel. The 308 would be better suited for areas that don't have long unobstructed line of sight (300-400 yards max, but more likely taking game within 50-150 yards) while the 6.5 PRC & 7 PRC will be better when I could use more reach and/or hunting larger game out of state.

Actions I'm considering:
- Zermatt Origin = Kind of a heavy option, I'd prefer to go lighter. I've read that there's sometimes binding issues with the interchangeable bolt heads, making it not the smoothest action.
- Impact NBK = Looks great but I don't know if the LA will take Proof 737R prefit barrels for SA (sounds like the SA NBK will will take 737Rs).
- Defiance Ruckus Ultralight = lots of people are saying stay away since it changed hands/went up in price
- Defiance anTi-X = lots of people are saying stay away since it changed hands/went up in price, also I don't know if it takes AICS mags and Proof's Ruckus prefits.
- Kelby Nanook = not sure if that window cut out becomes an issue for gunk getting in very often or not.
- BAT Vesper = looks amazing, but is overbuilt for my needs (6.5 CM/308 to 300 PRC), but again looks amazing so I'm not sure if there's anything better but it's also the most expensive and there may be smoother bolts out there, better timing, etc etc. for all I know.
- Terminus Kratos Lite = not sure if that window cut out becomes an issue for gunk getting in very often or not. I like that it's a shorter bolt throw. Wish that it accepted Proof's SA prefits.
- Curtis Helix Hybrid Hunter = not sure if that window cut out becomes an issue for gunk getting in very often or not. I like the idea that the bolt is smooth on the bottom so that it doesn't potentially scratch my Lapua brass.
- Pierce titanium skele-ti = seems titanium isn't ideal according to some

Bolt action build guidance

I want to start a bolt action rifle build.

Long term I want this for hunting and target/distance shooting. I’m in the PNW so deer, elk etc.

I want to be able to swap calibers/bolt faces. At home not a barrel swap at range etc.
Say I hunt with 300 prc but want to shoot some target with 6.5 creed.

I really like tikkas but know they have mag/chassis issues sometimes.

How about savage? Stick with tikka?

Want to buy a factory rifle and then get a chassis and additional barrels.

Hey guys. I'm selling one of my Amp Annealers (Mk2 with Aztex) along with a #10 pilot, a #73 pilot, and a shellholder. If you want just the annealer, I'll let it go for 1275 dollars shipped, Paypal F/F preferred.

Casemate, hopper, stand Sold

If you want the casemate and hopper separately, SOLD takes the hopper(large rifle plate included) and casemate.

Mastering the Basics

Why mastering the basics could be a lifelong project with the most upside

I have spoken with experts across many disciplines. From academia, martial arts, and Olympic skiing; from rock climbing, surfing, and special operations; from pistol shooting to precision long-range rifle competitors. Every single person mentioned “mastering the basics” or mastering the fundamentals. Universally the concept of fundamentals seems to be a human constant. So, let’s think about this and how it relates to your goals a little closer and why it seems like only the experts are saying it while the rest of us are always looking for the next trick or purchase to skip ahead on the path we’ve chosen to embark down.

Fundamentals equal Foundation

How do I feel about the statement “master the basics”? I think it is not so basic at all. Before we get...
