I'm selling a Proof Research 6mm Creedmoor, stainless steel, 22", 1:7.5. I'm including the custom length PR gas tube and a latest gen Seekins adjustable gas block. I slow fired 100rds of factory Hornady 108 ELD-M's to speed the barrel up and it was extremely accurate and reliable in a SP-10. I intended to shoot PRS gas gun with it but never got around to it.

Advice needed.
I currently own a Knights PVS30 with a FOM of 1952. I purchased this thinking that I would use it alot more than I do. I have owned it for just under 4 years and I'm still on my first set of batteries.
I really think I would use a dual tube, WP, set alot more, than my pvs30.

I contacted a local guy who knows a gentleman who owns a night vision company. It's not TNVC or anything like that. He gets in units that need repair, etc. Rebuilds, repairs them and then flips them for a profit. He has been very up front about that.

He has offered me a trade, straight across, for an ASU branded ANVIS that had a broken bridge that he has replaced. They are suppose to be aviation grade tubes and glass. Comes with mount and battery pack, and he says he will warranty them.

Is this a fair trade straight across? I am partially of the mindset that if he has what I want. It's worth it. However, am I cutting myself short in any way? Would I be better off selling what I have and purchasing something else? Are these comparable in value?

I will be honest, I thought I knew about night vision when I used it in the Army for 9 years, then purchased my first PVS14 omni 8 hand select from TNVC, then later the PVS 30....
NOPE, I'm just an end user, I don't know anything other than turn it on and run it.

So what is everyone's advice? Should I make the trade?

I currently shoot 338 lapua magnum (300 grain berger out of a 26 inch barrell in an AI AXMC). I am looking to take part in ELR matches and considering an upgrade to 33XC.

However I want to make sure that I dont just get carried away by all the advertised advantages (higher MV) but also understand the problems with this new caliber.

Are there shooters here who have shot both 338 LM as well as 33XC? I am interested in their opinion about advantages and disadvantages of 33xc vis a vis a 338 LM.

Please only add your inputs in case you have used both these calibers and/or you are an active ELR competitor. Grateful for your time and attention.

Looking at relocating to New Ellenton SC for a job. I was looking at a town just in the outskirts of town that looks fairly safe. Snelling is the town. Does anyone have any experience in the area? Crime statistics acts as if the whole area is pretty hot. Anyone know of rentals or safe places to live at?

Selling my Tenacity with a (I believe 22”) proof carbon barrel. It has a PVA ultralight 3 port brake and a trigger tech special flat face trigger. Action could use a re-polish on the finish, bead blast or cerakote. Nothing major just has some miles on her. Barrel has about 2k rounds, still shooting great. I shot the group below off a tripod with the last rounds I had loaded up for it. The wind is howling and it’s cold as balls in ND so it’s not the most impressive but still less than an inch. Do you all have better luck with setting the die to a specific spot to get you say 1.851” to the ogive and make every round there or do you say stop short of that number by .01 and then measure and adjust each round and seat to the 1.851” for example. This is 69gr smk in Lapua brass. Just curious which way is the most accurate. I don’t have much deviation but some are .001 or .0015 off or maybe .0005 or even .002 etc etc. Not sure how accurate my calipers are or even if that’s measurable also though. Just curious how you precision guys have had the most luck.
