Wanting another ar15 but I can not decide what route to take.
Ive got a m16a4 build, a 14.5" and a 10.5" currently. Any reason to grab a 16 or 18 over what I've got, or grab another shorty?

Given a barrel length of 20" and only shooting bullet weights from 147 to 185 grain, what twist rate would be recommended? From the research I've done, it would seem that a twist rate of 1:11 or 1:12 would work best. Many recommend just going with 1:10 as the best "all around" twist rate. But for the bullet weights I would be shooting it seems that would be too fast of a twist rate?

What is the longest you have waited on a custom bolt gun build? I know the past 2-1/2 years have been difficult for many businesses keeping up production wise and they’ve had to deal with logistic nightmares, etc. but even under these circumstances would you consider 18 months + far too long for a build to be completed? I know people are seeing some crazy lead times from stock manufacturers like Manners, but even if it took a year for a stock, would 6 months leave the average smith more than enough time to complete a build?

So I ordered a barrel blank from this place almost 2 weeks ago and it has still not shipped. Spoke with a guy who assured me that my barrel would ship out that day but no tracking sent and order still shows as processing. Anybody else dealt with these folks lately?

All throughout this month so far I just can't seem to be getting enough sleep. Apparently others as well. Grandma turned 67 today and a cancer survivor and I call her up and both her and Grandpa are still napping. Same with the rest of my family and friends. No one seems to have energy. I know that hot weather dehydrates you and makes you feel tired, but this month really hasn't been hot. I've also been reading others online who've been overly tired as well for no particular reason. What gives?

Hello all I know the title is kind of vaguely worded, but I was hoping someone could help me find scopes with similar turret feel to schmidt & bender's PMII, where the difference between the click of a 0.1mil turn and the clunk of a full mil are very distinct. Bit of a weird thing to prefer I know but I have a hard time finding scopes with this feature, even among videos where they discuss the tactile feel of turrets. It's the one thing that really disappoints me on my vortex razor, the clicks are tactile enough but I really miss the confidence of knowing exactly how many mils I was ripping through quickly while dialing without having to look at the turret or count individual 0.1 mil adjustments.

I heard a rumor it was a patented design only S&B had, that recently got leased to US Optics, is this true? Or have I just been looking in the wrong places.

Has anyone gotten their AR10 to where it will run reliably with or without a suppressor? If so, what setup are you running?

My current setup is a 16” middy 308 with an adjustable gas block and DPMS carbine buffer with a sprinco orange spring. It shoots fine suppressed (Sandman S) but when I pull the suppressor it won’t even eject the empty round. If I turn gas up to cycle unsuppressed then I’m crazy over gassed with a suppressor and it isn’t reliable.

I don’t fully understand what impacts the DI operating system so before I start spending money I’d like to hear if anyone else has a setup similar that has worked well. This barrel shoots pretty well (MOA with M118LR) so I’d like to make this barrel work if possible.

Oh and I’ve got a 18” Criterion in 6.5 CM (adjustable gas, rifle length) I will shoot more in the future so any overlap there would ideal
