All about you

An opportunity to share anything about you that may let people know you better. -

My name is Gary Kemper (Sr. ) . I live in Farmingtom Mo.
I am a self-employed painter , mostly new trim packages on residential construction and repaints on interiors of existing dwellings. Some light commercial.
Just finished recently the interior of a U.S. Congressman's headquarters here in town. I am 65 years old and have been painting since I was 15. I spent 3 years in the military being officially sworn in 4 days after my 17th birthday. With 30 days leave saved, I served the 3 years I volunteered for and was still 19 years old for a month after coming home.

My job as a businessman ,for as long as I can remember, is stress free. 42 years of collecting every penny ever owed me and not a single thing filed against me is a record I'm proud of. Of ,course I don't have to deal with the general public to the degree some might think. The last several years is basically ,bid the job , they say yes, and I go paint for 5 or 6 hours. If they are Democrat I will most likely not work for them. My generation of business acquaintances has been dwindling but I work with my son and he knows everybody through his social life. I never had the time or money in my earlier years to do what he does outside work.

I let my son do the driving at work and I sit in the passenger seat and scope out the scenery for places that I can pull some silver out of the ground if I take the time to do it. I also have an ebay hobby as well as an auction hobby that my son and I enjoy doing together. I am fortunate that everything blends together and I simplify my hobbies as well as my work by mentally dealing with the complexities so the execution stays simple, if that makes any sense. I don't have to work or practice my hobbies for an income.

My wife and I live in a smaller home here in town on about an acre of ground. We could move out by the golf course, but we don't golf. 😉 I'm somewhat of a cheapskate and I blame that on being poor in my earlier years. I was an ugly kid and nobody wanted to play with me . I get no respect, I'm telling you, no respect . Mom would take me to the park to play on the see-saw and I had to run from one end to the other. 😊

Finally finished

Thought I would show my AR308 build finally finished.
Because of Covid I had trouble finding parts so happy it’s finally done.

Optics Schmidt Bender 5-25 PM II price drop

New price: $2400 shipped.

Great shape, some turret rash. Seems all my SB get similar scrapes on turret. Can provide photos at some point tomorrow, currently working a 24 hour shift.

I need $2450 to me not counting shipping. So price is that plus shipping and insurance. Can probably ship for $50-60 depending on where it’s going.

Think I have original box but due to recent move not 100% sure I have it handy. I do have paperwork.

I have some steel (heavy) Leupold mark 4 rings Id include for additional $50. They are high. Not for sale separately.

Would consider partial or even full trade. No firearms unless it’s a benelli M4 and you’ll ship to CA. Or potentially LMT MWS MLOK or quad stripped upper. Or Zeiss LRP 3-18.

Thanks

Payment will have to be via PP f/f or zelle.

The Tall Men

Just watched it on You tube.

Im not putting this in the Movies thread because its not really about the movie. It's about a different time a different way of viewing life. The movies didnt need all this CGI stuff, constant being bombarded with every kind of filth and perversion. They just had real men, good plots, good cinematography, even good ethical values.

This one starred Clark Gable, 1955 Western, Gable, who flew bombers over Nazi Germany after he was a star. Jimmy Stewart, Earnest Borgnine, Lee Marvin and dozens of others. They didnt have to try to 'act' like men because they were men. I wont name anyone specific, but I just dont see that in today's crew. Nice fellows acting like men.

I think thats the time we long for, though we do have better glass now.

The 1950's America, perhaps the most golden point in our history, we were just really waking up, the future was wide open. But you cant go back, and looking forward it seems evil is manifesting more rapidly by the day.

Ephesians 6:12-13

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Rant over.

$350 ARs

If you aren’t already personally armed at this point I don’t know what to say.

But you should be encouraging / helping right minded friends and family and acquaintances acquire basic firearms and ammo A nudge in the right direction is sometimes all it takes.

If you want peace . . .
