Exploring Alternative to Pay Pal

I have an alternative that might work with my system, it's Credit Card so it will come with added fees and because it is VISA & MC their Anti Gun Stance is still present so anyone complaining after that will be auto-banned.

We have a processor that appears to be 2A friendlier so I am reaching out and actually detailing all the bullshit you guys post on here to make sure they are good with it, because believe it or not, that is an issue. The Pay Pal stuff is for "misinformation" that is you saying something they don't like, that is an open door.

I am waiting to hear back and then will get the ball rolling

Voting Early?

Just curious. I see one of the better Republican strategists complain on TV that Republicans, in general, wait until Election day to vote in person, whereas the democrats take full advantage of "early voting" and "mail in voting." He warns that waiting until election day might have consequences... (i.e. you're sick and can't get to the polls, or there's a household emergency or something going on with the kids and you can't go). Furthermore, if everyone descends on the polling place on election day, there could be other problems and everyone who shows up might not get to vote, etc. OTOH, on the "pro" side of waiting for election day, you get to see all the "interactions" between the candidates before voting (i.e. late debates, etc.). Some people who voted one way might have "voter's remorse" after seeing a certain debate performance. Furthermore, and a very remote if not unlikely scenario, one might think that if we don't publicize, in advance, the actual number of republican voters via "early voting" it might be more difficult for the dem machine to know in advance, how many "phantom" votes would be needed to throw the election to their candidates. Unlikely, as stated, because I'm sure the dem operatives would know registration figures in advance and would know how many are needed.

I tend to try and vote on election day at the polling place. I vote in the morning after commuter rush hour when the polling place should be less crowded. I have voted early on occasion and I voted by mail only once (in a primary). I much prefer to vote in person on election day.

Thoughts? Are the republicans "shooting themselves in the foot" by not spreading out the vote over the early period and ensuring that all republicans that intend to vote get the chance? Or, is it better to wait until election day?

Please pray for my wife

We’re in the hospital now and she’s not doing well. Not getting into details, but I know how powerful prayer is. Please pray for my wife.

Thank you all for the prayers. Docs are still struggling trying to find what’s wrong.

On another note, If you have an order that you placed recently, it likely won’t go out until next week. I appreciate your patience.

Arthroscopic knee surgery.

I saw a surgeon yesterday about repairing a couple tears in my left knee. One of them is a fairly big tear. He called it "impressive " whatever that means. He's going to try to stitch the big tear down if possible. If not he'll just cut off the flaps.
I've never had any kind of surgery before. I'm just curious what I'm in for as far as recovery, and as for outcome, has it been worth it if you've had it done?

Brand new to suppressors...

Hey fellas, I recently purchased a DD M4A1 and would like to purchase a suppressor for this. I'm prior military police but we never got into the suppressor world, so I'm a complete newb. Besides noise reduction what am I looking for in a high quality suppressor? The two initial one's I'm looking at are the DD Soundguard or the SureFire SOCOM556-RC2. Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Anyone else ever do business with Vortex's service department?

I've had a Strike Eagle mounted by 2 different gunsmiths and one of these gunsmiths mounted it twice. On my 300WM it wouldn't hold zero for even one shot, and the gunsmith agreed. So I put it on a 6.5CM and she started holding zero finally, but then she loses her zero periodically throughout the year. While she's zeroed, she is a tack driver, the most accurate gun I own. But then she loses zero again down the road. Anyway, the service department at Vortex has a guy named Travis Jones, who will not ever say there is anything wrong with this scope AT ALL. It has started to feel like extreme gaslighting.

So I'm curious, is there no such thing as a scope that has zero holding issues? Or is it always operator error? Because that's what our conversation has boiled down to after I confirmed that all 3 of us followed his instructions/tips for mounting and zeroing. Keep in mind, she wouldn't hold zero for even one shot on a 300WM, but will hold zero for an undetermined length of time/number of shots on a 6.5CM.

SOLD Knights Refurb PVS-30

New to this forum. I have feedback on ar15.com and theoutdoorstrader under the same username (cookezm).

Have a Knight's PVS-30 in good shape! Low hours, box has "1683" on it so assuming that is the FOM. Sheet says .25 MOA shift however I think it is less than that as I use my daytime holds out to 600 yards (furthest I've taken it). Great unit. Comes with box, case, lens cover, etc. It will also come with an MKMachining focus throw lever.

Looking for $4000 shipped and fully insured. You pick the carrier of your preference, feel free to facetime me with the unit if you want.

Help me spend somebody else's money.

A guy I work with is looking at going on his first hunting trip (whitetail) and has asked me for advice on his first rifle purchase.

He wants something he can afford to shoot on a regular basis not just hunting so he automatically leaned towards 308 for some reason. I like a 7-08 myself.

My mind went straight to bergara and I know tikka is a popular one here so I thought of that as well but then I thought about a sig cross.

He's not set on a 308 so caliber choices are open and while the manbun makes sense for a new shooter with ammo selection, availability and being relatively easy to shoot, you just won't catch me recommending it.

He's in his early twenties, started his industrial career as a specialty welder so he's got plenty money.

So let's spend his money. What are you guys recommending?

Darrell Brooks Found Guilty of First-Degree Murder for All 6 Victims Killed in Waukesha Christmas Parade Massacre

3:55

Darrell Brooks — the man accused of driving his SUV through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, last year — has been convicted on all six counts of first-degree intentional homicide, after a tumultuous trial where the aspiring rap artist represented himself and made a mockery of the proceedings.

— Law&Crime Network (@LawCrimeNetwork) October 26, 2022
A jury found Brooks guilty Wednesday morning of all 76 charges against him — including reckless endangering safety, hit-and-run involving death, bond jumping, and battery — with each count of homicide carrying a mandatory life sentence in prison. Just days before the parade massacre, Brooks had been released from prison on a mere $1,000 bail thanks to lenient Milwaukee County DA policies. It took the jury a little over three hours to reach its verdict.
Brooks, wearing a suit and tie, quietly leaned his bowed head on folded hands as the verdicts were read. His demeanor was a stark departure from previous days of the trial, when his sometimes outrageous behavior drew rebukes from the judge. He declared himself a “sovereign citizen,” refused to recognize his legal name as his own, and regularly fought with Judge Jennifer Dorow. In the final week of the trial, he piled up boxes of files to hide his face from the court’s cameras. He also tossed his copy of the jury instructions into the garbage.
Brooks drove his Ford Escape into the Christmas parade in Waukesha in suburban Milwaukee on Nov. 21 moments after fleeing a domestic disturbance with his ex-girlfriend, prosecutors said.

Six people were killed, including 8-year-old Jackson Sparks, who was marching in the parade with his baseball team, and three members of the Dancing Grannies, a group of grandmothers that dances in parades. Dozens of other people were hurt, some severely.

The incident deeply scarred the community of 70,000 people about 16 miles (25 kilometers) west of Milwaukee. Community members built memorials to the dead and held vigils. The anger was still evident Wednesday; someone in the gallery yelled “burn in hell” as the verdicts were read.

Brooks pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease this year but withdrew the plea before his trial began with no explanation. Days before the trial started, he dismissed his public defenders, electing to represent himself.

District Attorney Susan Opper called to the stand police officers and paradegoers who testified they saw Brooks behind the wheel of the SUV.

Brooks struggled to mount a defense, launching into meandering cross-examinations, refusing to recognize his own name or the court’s jurisdiction over him, and muttering under his breath that the trial wasn’t fair.

He got into such intense arguments with Judge Jennifer Dorow that several times during the lead-up to jury selection she moved him into another courtroom where he could watch the proceedings via video and she could mute his microphone when he became disruptive.

One day after he was removed to the other courtroom, he stripped off his shirt and sat bare-chested on the defense table with his back to the camera.

Opper told jurors during her closing arguments Tuesday that Brooks’ refusal to stop once he entered the parade route shows he intended to kill people.

Dorow allowed Brooks back into the main courtroom to deliver his closing to jurors face to face. In a rambling, repetitive speech, he tried to raise doubts about whether the SUV’s throttle malfunctioned and whether the driver simply panicked. He lamented how he hasn’t been able to see his children since he was arrested and insisted he’s not a murderer.

Opper countered during her rebuttal that a Wisconsin State Patrol vehicle inspector testified earlier that the SUV was in good working order. She warned jurors that Brooks was just trying to play on their sympathy.
