Wild video of a defensive shooting in Los Angeles. Homeowner with INSANE reaction speed gets drop on armed thugs who flee after exchange of bullets.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
NOVEMBER 6, 2023

A Los Angeles man returning home from work was targeted by two gun-toting would be home invaders who had clearly staked out the residence, waiting for the man to open his door before striking. The man, using insane reaction speed and pragmatism, hurls a cup of hot coffee that he was carrying in his hands straight into the face of the thug who had accosted him first, burning him and causing him to lose composure. In the meantime, the homeowner draws his own pistol and an exchange of gunfire broke out between the man and the two thugs. The man was not struck and unfortunately, the two criminals were not hit by his return fire either and fled. Upon being interviewed by various local news agencies, the man stated that "safety of his loved ones come before his own" and he will never hesitate to fight back.

The comments on the above video are almost UNANIMOUSLY pro-CCW and are praising the man for his fearless actions and razor sharp fighting skills.

Newsmax kaput

For a short time, Newsmax was kind of all right comparing to all other fake news, Now, Newsmax is also terrible. I've deleted it from all my devices and replaced it for now with Real America's Voice. You can watch it on ROKU, smartphones and PCs.

Gunsmithing Anyone ever seen this before (Savage)

I bought a Savage Axis a few years back for a project I just got started on. I pulled off the 30-06 barrel today in preparation to have the action trued and install a light Palma 8x57 barrel.

When I broke the barrel nut loose, I noticed a bunch of tiny little round objects come out of the threads. I was able to get the action off the barrel tenon no problem but the nut locked up hard half way off. Needless to say I’m a bit perplexed by what this could be. Feels metallic but I didn’t try to get them to stick to a magnet. Almost looks like fine spherical gunpowder, but like extra fine and again, really hard.

Any ideas? Anyone ever seen anything like this? The rifle is new from Cabelas, and is still unfired. Thanks.

WD 40 Who would have thunk it.

Many of these uses are unvetted but I thought this interesting.

What Is The Main Ingredient of WD-40?
Before you read to the end, does anybody know what the main ingredient of WD-40?
No Cheating.....
WD-40 ~ Who knew!
I had a neighbour who bought a new pickup.
I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray
painted red all around the sides of this beige truck (for some unknown
reason).
I went over, woke him up, and told him the bad news.
He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do ....
probably nothing until Monday morning, since nothing was open.
Another neighbour came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off.
It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm his paint
job that was on the truck. I was impressed!
WD-40 who knew?
"Water Displacement #40".
The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and
degreaser to protect missile parts.
WD-40 was created in 1953, by three technicians at the San Diego
Rocket Chemical Company.
Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'Water
Displacement' Compound.
They were finally successful for a formulation, with their fortieth
attempt, thus WD-40. The 'Convair Company' bought it in bulk to
protect their atlas missile parts.
Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40
that would hurt you.
When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing
that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic,
it works just as well as on glass. It's a miracle!
Then try it on your stove-top.
It's now shinier than it's ever been.
You'll be amazed.
WD-40 Uses:
1. Protects silver from tarnishing.
2. Removes road tar and grime from cars.
3. Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.
4. Gives floor that 'just-waxed' sheen without making them slippery.
5. Keeps the flies off of Cows, Horses, and other Farm Critters.
6. Restores and cleans chalkboards.
7. Removes lipstick stains.
8. Loosens stubborn zippers.
9. Untangles jewellery chains.
10. Removes stains from stainless steel sinks.
11. Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill.
12. Keeps ceramic/terracotta garden pots from oxidising.
13. Removes tomato stains from clothing.
14. Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots.
15. Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors.
16. Keeps scissors working smoothly.
17. Lubricates noisy door hinges on both home and vehicles doors.
18. It removes that nasty tar and scuff marks from the kitchen
flooring. It doesn't seem to harm the finish and you won't have to
scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some
windows if you have a lot of marks.
19. Remove those nasty bug guts that will eat away the finish
on your car if not removed quickly!
20. Gives a children's playground gym slide a shine for a super fast slide.
21. Lubricates gearshift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on
riding mowers.
22. Rids kids rocking chair and swings of squeaky noises.
23. Lubricates tracks in sticking home windows and makes them easier to open.
24. Spraying an umbrella stem makes it easier to open and close.
25. Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards in vehicles, as well
as vinyl bumpers.
26. Restores and cleans roof racks on vehicles.
27. Lubricates and stops squeaks in electric fans.
28. Lubricates wheel sprockets on tricycles, wagons and bicycles for
easy handling.
29. Lubricates fan belts on washers and dryers and keeps them running smoothly.
30. Keeps rust from forming on saws and saw blades, and other tools.
31. Removes grease splatters from stove-tops.
32. Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging.
33. Lubricates prosthetic limbs.
34. Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell).
35. Removes all traces of duct tape.
36. Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve
arthritis pain.
37. Florida 's favourite use is: 'cleans and removes love bugs from
grills and bumpers.'
38. The favourite use in the state of New York , it protects the Statue
of Liberty from the elements.
39. WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a little on live bait or lures and you
will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it's a lot cheaper than
the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep
in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing
are not allowed in some states.
40. Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and
stops the itch.
41. It is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray it on the marks
and wipe with a clean rag.
42. Also, if you've discovered that your teenage daughter has washed
and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the
lipstick spots with WD-40 and rewash. Presto! The lipstick is gone!
43. If you spray it inside a wet distributor cap, it will displace the
moisture, allowing the engine to start.
My discovery, Ants don't like it..................
P.S.
As for that Basic, Main Ingredient.......
Well.... it's FISH OIL....
Now This Is Definitely Worth SHARING!!

Really right stuff tripod

So I was wanting to purchase a really tight stuff tripod and having a hard time deciding what I need. First I want a soar model as I will be shooting ad hunting with it. I think the anvil 30 with the combo anvil/picatinney mount would work best for me as I have a ai at-x anvil mount system and several other rifles with pic rails.
My question is with the tripod itself I was thinking of the series 3 with 3 extensions for more stable legs rather than the 4 extension system.
So the tcft-33 mk2 series 3 but I want to make sure the 4ext is better or more favorable.
Me and my son are 5’8” and 6’

Rifle Scopes So, I threw my Arken off the shooting platform...

Made a video. I'm no content creator but wanted to document it.

900m impact. Throw scope off shooting platform about 25ft down the hard packed dirt hill. Install optic again. Impact 900m. Plate is 1/2 IPSC

This was the second time I did this test. First time was on paper. There was no shift. Not even .1mrad.

Nothing broken or dented. Just some sand in the parallax knob and a few scrapes.

I'd say EP5 is GTG.

And so is the OBR mount.

Just as a disclaimer since Arken is very triggering apparently.

I did this just for the hell of it I'm no Arken fan boy nor ambassador. Just wanted to see what this thing was all about because of all the controversy it seems to be creating. It's not an ATACR or TT, obviously!

Just showing that it didn't bust into 1000 pieces or lose its zero from a substantial impact.

Edited title since people can't understand that 25ft can also mean out not down.

My girl is having a hard time making wind calls

Winds are 5-10 with some gusting and swirling around tree and shed. Poor BC for a frisbee. May as well be a cor-lokt. Maybe Hornydaddy will come out with a high BC frisbee that won’t deform from atmospheric resistance. God damn Chuck-it frisbee deforms and floats in the wind. She went from 99% catch rate to about 65% catch rate. She wasn’t happy.

Don’t let the face fool you, she’s a down right vicious bitch that holds a grudge. She’s torn up her older brother a couple of times and made the house look like Jack the Ripper was here. Frisbee is serious business.

Optics *SPF* Vortex Razor Gen II 3-18x50, EBR-7C MRAD *SPF*

*SPF*

Up for sale is a Vortex Gen II Razor 3-18x50mm EBR-7C MRAD scope. Was purchased by me earlier in the year and has been mounted in NF rings, however there are no ring marks, dents/damage etc. Includes all the paperwork, accessories etc. it came with.

Price is $1150 plus actual shipping to the buyer. Lately I've seen insured shipping on scopes go anywhere from $20-$50 so I'd rather just charge the buyer actual shipping to them than stack $50 on the price to cover the most expensive option. CONUS only.

Can provide more photos on request etc.

Not currently interested in any trades.

On of the best gunsmiths in history

Just came across this from my collection, and wanted to share. Known worldwide, one of the most accomplished gunsmith & benchrest shooters in history, Seely Masker. He spent his final years in a nearbye town in upstate NY. I used to call him for info and advice after he moved here. It was always pleasurable talking to the old soul. I never commissioned any rifles from him. But he recommended many other smiths who were specialized in whatever it was I was building at the time. He passed on in 1996 at 83 years old. His builds command top dollar when they rarely come up for sale.
