Re: $200 scope for trainer? I have a bushnell 10x on my 308 and can make repeatable hits out to 1k just fine.. It's not a precise as a higher power scope but it works well for me.

Re: Remington 700 SPS Tactical or SPS Varmint in 308? The sps tactical is pretty awesome. The stock is horrible. I can't get comfortable at all behind it. With another stock the sps tactical makes a great out of the box rifle. My accuracy is about the same as others report.

Re: Stock 700 SPS V 308 expectations I've seen 168s make repeated hits at 1k and that is only 200ft asl. They were not supersonic though. Luckily it wasn't a windy day as well..

Re: Most wear resistant bolt coating? I think <span style="text-decoration: line-through">300sniper</span> Todd with Phantom Finishing does microslick, I felt one of the bolts he did and it sure was nice. It made the bolt very very smooth.

Re: Triad rear bag I use a Red Tac Gear Rear Bag. It makes it really easy to adjust for elevation and creates a solid position. At the last monthly match in norcal I'd say 20 out of 25 were using them. A few were using shooting gloves of some sort and one had a thinner bag.

Re: Vortex PST news ????? I had two pre-ordered viper pst's and two rifles without scopes waiting to be shot.. I ordered mine 3 or 4 months before the release date. The scopes didn't come out on time and I gave them more time. I cancelled my order a couple weeks ago. I was really excited...
