Please help! My memory tells me that K & L frame hammers are interchangable. Could someone who works on thema little more often (or has a younger memory ) please confirm whether or not that's correct?
Re: Wildcat Cartridges I have tons of wildcats! I regularly shoot a 243 Catbird, a 6x45 and a 25/222. I'll get some pics! The Catbird is probably the most fun. It's a 270 case necked to 243, an AI to 40 degrees. It moves an 85 gr bullet over 4,000 fps. Prairie dogs have bad dreams about it...
Re: 6x45 Bolt Rifle My 6x45 is a little different. It's on a Sako L461 action so I can't get much more COL than the ARs. I used a 10" twist barrel, and have had good results with everything up to 100gr. You'll also gain a little velocity over an 8" twist. Less energy spent spinning the pill.
Re: Rem700P - Trigger Job or Aftermarket? I'd recommend you start with the original trigger, and see if you can make it suit you. The older ones are pretty nice! If you lack instructions I can send them to you, or give you a link. If you have ANY mechanical ability, and can follow three lines...
Re: Tumbler Motor question Doubled, I solved the same problem in a totally different manner. I bought a $149 chinese cement mixer and fabbed a lid for it. I ran it steady for almost two years and it never missed a lick.
Re: Colors Mine does that as well. With my limited knowledge, I was happy to get back to black on white printing. Didn't really care much which shade of baby poop the border resembled.
Re: Colors Gents, I'm the furthest thing from a computer guru, but mine did that and I got it to change back bu changing "my prefered stylesheet" to ubbthreads. It only takes a second, so might be worth a try.
Re: Rem 700 Mark, I'll jump in and try to help, but there is no "right" answer. It's all a series of trade-offs. You can get into the SPS Varmint or SPS Tactical for relatively low $$. They feature 26" and 20" heavy barrels respectively. However...
Re: Removed two Rem700 factory barrels. what a PITA! I wrap mine in newspaper to eliminate the aluminum marr and clamp them in a 20 ton arbor press. Nothing moves, and I can do one in three minutes. Another thing I do differently than most is use the same wrench on all actions. It's a good...
Re: Atlas WOW! That's a serious endorsement! Please post some contact info for the manufacturer/distributer. I'd like to try one!

I've been wanting to build one, but want to avoid the typical ejection problems. My first choice as an action donor is a push-feed Win 70 in 223, but it looks like the extractor/ejector geometry is very close to the problem plauged 700. Has anyone here ever installed a Sako style extractor in a...
Re: restocking a 721 The factory magazine will work if you tweak the inletting and use some spacers. The magazine is too tall to use otherwise It's much easier to pick up a BDL set up.
Re: Dog breeds? No experience with RRs, but a Doberman would (IMHO) fit the bill pretty well. You need to check out the breeder, and make sure the parents aren't too high strung, but they can be good family dogs and strike a pretty good balance between pet and protection. The caution about...
