I have not ever used any wolf primers but have a chance to get some. I am going to be getting a new 223ai and a 6.5x47 lapua soon. I was hoping to be able to use the same primer in both and was thinking the small rifle magnum is the ticket but I am just not sure. I already have a couple thousand...
Forgive my ignorance as I am just getting started on the .408 Would I use the large rifle magnum primers for this round? I just use large rifle for my other bullets (.308, .260) but I am assuming I need to step up to the magnum primers (which I have on hand).
I don't know if i should've posted this in the reload forum or here but here it is. Was wondering if you guys could help me diagnose an issue... I was out at the range today shooting lake city through my .308. 2 out of the twenty rounds of lake city i shot.. i pull the trigger and just hear...
Been trying to find a topic on 40sw primers - Anyone running a specific brand/# that they have great success with or would strongly rec.? 4 inch compact is the user, and would like to mimic the Speer GDHP 165gr perf. If that helps.
I'm new to reloading and I was wondering if there is a big difference in accuracy based on brand of primers. For example, are Winchester or Remington or Federal LR primers good for accurate loads? Thanks in advance. Joe
<span style="font-size: 14pt"><span style="color: #FF6666"><span style="font-weight: bold">help, I need to buy large rifle magnum primer friends, Anybody know where I can buy primers LRM within the USA? I'm traveling to Miami / FL 25th, and I managed to buy these primers anywhere! I am...
I just got my rifle back from the smith. I loaded up 50 fireforming loads with Lapua brass, CCI BR4's and H-335& Benchmark. I had several rounds that required 2-3 strikes to ignite the primer. Could the J lock cause this? What else might cause it? I'm hoping it's not the primers as I have...
Generally how much of a difference can/will you see in pressure simply from switching a primer? Why am I asking this? I had a load in .308 LC Match brass that exhibited no visable pressure signs. Then I switched from BR2's to FED210's. Massive sticky bolt and an incipient head seperation...
the other day a buddy of mine and i were shooting...as he made a shot he jumped and said something bit him on his right arm..well come to find out it was a primer that had been blown out of the case and landed on his arm...he was shooting a pof 308..all factory...the ammo was black hills 175...
Got to the range yesterday to put some more test loads thru the rifle! The first load was 23.5gr of IMR4064 in Lake City brass with Wolf Primers and topped off with a Hornady 60gr Vmax. The second load was ditto except for the powder charge was increased to 24.8gr. Happy with both loads, hard...
It seems like primers are starting to hit the shelves again in small batches. They are still selling as fast as they show up but at least they are out there now. In the last 2 weeks Bruno's, Midway twice and Sinclair has had some. They have been different brands such as Winchester, Remington and...
The Federal 210s were originally supposed to arrive at Cabela's on 4/24, then 4/28. Somewhere along the line, they were supposed to get there about the 3rd week of May. Then June 2nd. Now it's 6//25. The WLRs I added to the order a while back are now due to arrive 6/17. Does the Brady...
So I had 2k + mixed, crimped, 5.56 brass processed by a guy. He said he was using a Dillon set up and Dillon swager. He had positive feedback from others so I went with him. Anyway, I am now having trouble seating primers. They either kind of "pop" in or get deformed in previously crimped brass...
http://blog.sinclairintl.com/2009/05/12/primer-availability-2/ Primer Availability We have had a lot of concerned customers calling to ask about primer availability. Actually, our lines have been flooded with calls regarding the availability of primers as well as the availability of other...
I found a few small rifle Remington primers labeled 6 1/2's, but all the load data I have found using Rem primers states the use of 7 1/2's. My question is, what difference is there if any? Duke.
I got an adjustable primer pocket reamer from RW Hart. Folks at Hart told me to adjust depth so primer seats .001/.002 deep. When I adjust the tool to ream the pocket to this depth, it only "cuts" the middle portion of the pocket around the hole, not the entire pocket to the side edges...
