Justice Alito Issues Brutal Reminder to Woke Lawmakers as Congress Tries to Mandate SCOTUS Ethics Code

A conservative Supreme Court justice has issued a harsh rebuke against leftist lawmakers in Congress trying to implement an ethics code for the Court.
The behavior of Supreme Court justices has been in the spotlight recently as the left has been trying to take down conservative judges Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas for alleged ethics violations.
Now, liberals in Congress are trying to mandate a SCOTUS ethics code, probably in the hope that one of the conservative justices will be caught violating it and be impeached.

Unfortunately for the left, Alito has just told them that that is just not going to happen.
On Friday, the Wall Street Journal published an interview with Alito in which he said that Congress has absolutely no power whatsoever to regulate the behavior of the Supreme Court.

“I know this is a controversial view, but I’m willing to say it,” Alito said. “No provision in the Constitution gives them the authority to regulate the Supreme Court — period.”
Later, Alito implied that there were other justices who share his position on the issue. “I don’t know that any of my colleagues have spoken about it publicly, so I don’t think I should say. But I think it is something we have all thought about.”
According to the Washington Post, Michael Mukasey, who served as attorney general under President George W. Bush, agreed with Alito in his assessment of the issue.
“A law compelling the court to adopt such a code, or purporting to impose one legislatively, would violate the principle of separation of powers, and would also be unworkable inasmuch as there is no authority other than the justices themselves to apply such a code,” he said to a Senate committee.
Alito and Mukasey are absolutely right, and what they say is important for a number of reasons.
First of all, the Constitution instituted the separation of powers so that no one branch of government could have too much power. Also, it ensures that no branch of government has power over the other, although there is a system of checks and balances for the branches to keep each other in check.
By implementing an ethics code on the Supreme Court, Congress would thereby assert its authority to meddle in the affairs of the Court, meaning one branch would be interfering with the work of another.
In short, this would violate the principle of the separation of powers instituted by the Constitution.
In addition, it is important to note that the left’s push for a SCOTUS ethics code does not come from a genuine concern about the integrity of the court, but rather from petty partisan politics.
Under President Donald Trump, the Supreme Court became dominated by conservative justices, and that court has delivered a number of conservative rulings that have left leftists enraged.
Their push for an ethics code is really just a witch hunt against two conservative justices who they see as responsible for the decisions that they disagree with.
Hopefully, however, the Constitution will stand in their way and prevent them from doing that.

Please help with US Navy emblem

Hey guys, I’ve been commissioned to do a flag for a retired US Navy Airman. I’ve done all the branches except the Navy. When I looked up the US Navy seal, I’m getting these two:

71235571201__BBB9F61A-40D3-49EB-9107-B34B1E3637FB.jpeg
71235577174__3A652ED1-521D-4185-B920-0ADD71E2FCB2.jpeg

Which one is appropriate? And feel free to educate me, were these used during different time periods? Are they both still in service? What is appropriate on a flag? This gentleman got out in 1994.

For reference, here is an example of one I did for a couple US ARMY members.

Thanks for any guidance, I want this to be perfectly correct.

Was Pearl Harbor used as bait?

This guy, and senior naval staff, felt Pearl was too vulnerable ,but they were all ignored and over ridden by Roosevelt. A few months later...boom. I'm not a historian on this but it seems plausible.

Low recoil round to 1k

Looking at a low recoil rig for the wife. Right now she is shooting a .308 but she says the recoil is bothersome... And she is getting ready to have a procedure done on her right shoulder. She won't be behind a rifle anytime soon, but she said she would like a lighter recoiling rifle for when she is able to resume shooting. We will probably keep her .308 as a hunting/backup rig. But she wants something that she will enjoy shooting "all day."

1000 yards is about as far as she'll ever get out to.

I'm a 30 cal guy and specifically magnums... So I'm just not familiar with the smaller, lighter-recoiling calibers.

I checked out the CM calibers, both 6 & 6.5. Looks like I can get brass for both... At least right now. Haven't checked on projectiles yet but I assume getting either one shouldn't be too impossible.

I also looked at 6 Dasher and brass was available but not as plentiful as the CM varieties... And I know very little about it anyway. And I didn't find many options for it in "off the shelf" rifles to boot. Not sure she is ready/willing for a custom precision build either.

Any other chamberings you all recommend I look at? (Preferably in a "factory" rifle)

Mike

Visited Dead Zero Shooting Park

I visited Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer Tennessee today. This is the nicest range I have ever shot at. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is in the area.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

They have 7 pistol ranges, shotgun ranges, and a 100-1,000y rifle range with steel and electronic targets.

We shot the 100-1,000y range.
You are provided a tablet which is linked to your targets.
Before shooting at the electronic target you must shoot 1 shot on the steel target at the equivalent range. This is to prevent you shooting the sensors on the electronic target.

I was shooting my Ultimatum Deadline in 6.5 Creedmoor in an MDT ACC chassis topped with a Tangent Theta TT525P.

I was shooting hand loaded ammo out to 600Y.
I was at 0.2MOA after 4 shots at 600y but of course I screwed it up on the 5th shot.

At 800Y I kept everything in the 10 or X-ring for a .74MOA

At 1,000y I had 3 groups in the 0.6MOA range with this one all being in the 10 or X-ring.

I was shooting Hornady Match 147 ELD-M, FGMM with Sierra 140gr SMK’s, and Sierra branded ammo loaded with 140gr SMK’s.

Spotters Decent binoculars for PRS?

I'm not sure if decent is the word I should use?

What's the norms, not the poors and not the richs, somewhere in between use for spotting hits for PRS?

I'm not even really sure what my budget should be for these. I do know I definitely want binoculars, not a spotting scope. I'd like to see the bullet trace and hits out to 1300 yards or more.

Thanks guys
