LOTHAR WALTHER Also offer Zermatt Arms RIMX Prefit. What do you think of LW Barrel JGS match chamber?

Oh, that's cool. No idea how consistently their barrels shoot from customer to customer. Might be worth a try. I also ordered a Proof Prefit figuring it would take a while to get this Shilen. I'll probably let it go.

Thank Sir!

I dont know. I'll be interested to see how these prefits compare to custom fit and chambered barrels. 22lr is a different animal then centerfire.

What are these prefits headspacing too? The headspace will dictate the ammo (rim thickness) it prefers. Almost all the prefits I've seen have Bentz chambers which isn't the choice for a custom 22lr trying to squeeze the most accuracy out of it....idk time will tell

I also wonder how much headspace variance there is going to be screwing a barrel on. Normally not a concern a thou this way or the other

On a centerfire I agree. But on a rimfire....I prefer mine to be set exactly what I spec it based off the ammo I shoot.

@padom what length is your barrel going to be? Is there a length for accuracy or is it all personal preference?

LOTHAR WALTHER Also offer Zermatt Arms RIMX Prefit. What do you think of LW Barrel JGS match chamber?

The 'JGS match 22' is essentially a little tighter version of the Bentz. It should be a good pre-fit chamber choice.

I believe @natdscott played with this reamer a while back... maybe still is?

Any videos of rimx in action?

A few out there but I dont know of any videos. Talking to the guys over @ Bighorn this week, bolt heads just went out for heat treat and coating..hopefully the end of the month will have one in hand to review

Now you have me interested in this. Are you starting a new thread once you get the rig setup, I'd like to follow your process.

This is probably somewhat of a touchy subject, but do we think/know if the Rim-X will function with Vudoo mags? I have a Vudoo, and I have a Rim-X on order. The Rim-X mags are listed on Bison Tactical for $125, love to be able to use my Vudoo mags.

I visually compared my Vudoo mag with a Zermatt mag and they wont be interchangeable. I even considered altering a Vudoo mag with some machining and that doesn't look feasible.
In another thread I had mention something about how Zermatt could have made a cost effective polymer magazine and okran chimed in about how cheap plastic is and how it wears out quickly too. As politely as I could muster, I posted some data to show him that he was out of his mind. It's my feeling that 125.00 is too much for a magazine.
I have seen plenty of people that don't like to pay 100.00 for a Anschutz mag.
I know I don't like it and that Is why I only have two of them. Before someone say's that I'm just to cheap, I would like to point out that I have 16 Kriss DMK mags, 19 Vudoo mags and plenty of other magazines as well.
When Zermatt comes out with a more reasonable poly mag, I will be happy to buy an action.

As a side bar: I was loaned an Anschutz extended mag release and they are a very nice option. I ordered two today. The release is easy to get to and the mag drops free.
Thank you Tim, It is much appreciated.

Shawn

I'm going to get me a RimX, a Vudoo, maybe two and a Deuce this year. I wish I could win something or get a huge discount or even get something for free.

Given that the Deuce uses the Vudoo magazines, I may get that before the RimX

Well .500 at 50 yards is not it ! Maybe u can enlighten me on this as from my enternet research i see the same size groups from the Bergara 22 at 1/3 the cost. I’m ok with it if anyone wants the best heck i do but I’m just trying to understand is it worth it or is it just most people have never shot a accurate 22.

Is the B14R really 1/3 the cost?? A friend of mine has a B14R and the trigger sucked. So lets assume the
trigger will be the same in the Bergara and V22. Call it a Bix & Andy Tac sport for this exercise.

Let them do what they do. If you don't want one, don't buy one. Complaining here about un-released products is dumb. The people at Zermatt have a plan, lets see it through. I personally never though I would own more that 1-2 AICS mags when I got into this hobby, now I have a box full. Add BR kits and extensions to that and I have a lot of expensive magazines. By my math, you have over $600 dollars in vudoo mags but are complaining that these magazines are too expensive

I agree with this; however, Anschutz magazine are expensive and not very good. They are cheap metal, not very durable and dont feed that well. I personally, modify wisner savage mags ($20) and they work well enough for me. I am a cheap-ass and am willing to live with them at a 5-1 cost ratio.

Delfuego....

I was trying to convey that the Zermatt magazines cost too much per unit. At 45.00 a mag times 19 mags, I do have 855.00 in V22 mags. Ur math aint dat good. The keen observer may note that I don't have any Vudoo metal magazines at 85.00 each either.
I did not say the Zermatt guns or mags were not good quality. Nor did I say they were good !! I have no personal experience with them so for now, I'm keeping my big dumb mouth shut.
I did say that it is my FEELING that 125.00 per mag is too much. I also understand that that is only my opinion...... Hell, I'm not even complaining. I am voicing my position on the Zermatt products and that is what this thread is about.

Thanks for giving me your permission to: buy or don't, buy. I have been paralyzed without your express approval.
I do however appreciate the information about the " wisner savage mags " I will order one and see how it pans out or is too geto for my liking.

Regards
Shawn Carroll

Hey ole pal. Yeah, the ban has expired but I will always have a X on my back. When you get the best of someone and they can't handle it all they got left is the ban hammer.

Youre back for one day and you already want to start?? You didnt get the best of anyone. You got banned for making false statements and lies, about a mod at that. Next time its permanent. You decide

Hello Tim,
Thanks for the information. It would be an easy task for me to whip up a fixture to mount in a rotorary table to remove the highlighted material. The V notch could be done with a standard end mill.
A dozen of them would serve me nicely.

Well Bergara 900 and trigger 250. VuDoo still needs a trigger and stock so anther 1200 plus the 1795

I'm not starting anything, it was a simple comment. The majority of the people here who read this don't even care or know who or what I am talking about. Since your reply, I guess they do now.

Can you tell me where I broke a rule with my reply to littlepod? Do you make up rules as you go? Do you ban people because you don't like them? Are you going to delete this post and ban me for even replying? Like I said the X will always be on my back.

Ok PADOM, I've sat here thinking about this and you win. I have decided I want to stay with SH. I get a lot of enjoyment talking with others who have the same interest. I feel I can contribute to this community with helpful information. I have made several friends here along the way. I'll never make another comment on anything related to our "misunderstanding". You have my sincere apology for whatever it is you think I need to apologize for.

Now, can we be friends? I am interested in your custom reamer I been hearing about. Can you provide a drawing to compare it with the other reamers on the market?

I dont have problems with one anyone here. I'm here to provide data and testing that people ask to see and help people.

I didnt ask for anything from you. But when you want to start making false statements. Telling me (and the public) to go back to my barrel group buys so I can get my free barrel then you crossed a line. You know who I am? You know what relationships I have with these companies? You know what they give me? No, you dont have a clue. I spend 90% of my own money on these reviews, testing and write ups.

The group buy is a LOT of work, and if you talk to the people that got in on the last one I make it run smooth, effortless and keep my word on everything I say. I get NOTHING from the group buy. I dont even want to do the group buy but guys have been begging me to do it because they missed the first one.

So you want to have constructive, objective conversations, no problem. But keep the bullshit out of it.

This all started because you wanted to put words in my mouth about an MPA barrel. Guys asked about it, I gave MY EXPERIENCE. Little do you know I worked directly with Phil on that barrel that he sent me. It shot how it shot, period. Those are facts. You dont like it, oh well.

i've got mine on order at Altus with a proof 18" carbon barrel. They told me i'm at the top of a very long list of pre orders. I know when i ordered quite a few weeks back, there was only a couple ahead of me on the first order. Guess that has changed quite a bit since then. Looking forward to shooting it when it arrives. Give my Vudoo's a break :)

I’m local to Mile high, they said they had ordered a few and I asked if I could put my name on one, they said sure.

Mine is on order from big horn. I chamber a lot of rimfire barrels here in my shop and I really like using a tuner. Nothing huge or overwhelming in the looks department. I also like the smaller contours. .900 straight works really well with a small tuner Shilen ratchet and muller 2 groove barrels are hard to beat. I like the smaller contour for balance as well. A m24 countour would just be to heavy for me.
if you chamber a good quality barrel with a good reamer and set the bullet jam properly your 22 should shoot 1/4”
the rifles I send to eley for ammo testing will always shoot under half inch 50 shot groups Rimfire chambers are a different animal. Everything must be in balance. Weight, chamber, ammo and barrel. It’s a system that must work together. My findings anyway. LGP

Getting closer and closer. Really looking forward getting this review started! Will see if I can get an update next week. Kreiger has informed me they will be sending over blanks for this review. Still waiting to here back from Benchmark and Lilja. This is going to be a fun one. Stay tuned!

Get a Deuce, 60 degree throw, 6pm firing pin, control feed. Will be running the IBI with a Calfee reamer.
I know, yesterday I shot my B-14R and then my T1x and the low bot throw on the T1x makes it so much faster. The low bolt throw on the Deuce is the major difference and it's pretty important to me.

Little update from Zermatt this morning. They hope to have one in my.hands before St Patricks day so 2 weeks or less.

Also for any of you going to be using a bix'n Andy it will use the same top seer as all the other Zermatt Bighorn actions. A low seer

If you really want to pick up speed go to exclusively holding over for multiple target stages and troop lines. As long as you still dial your dope the difference between a two lug and three lug in target engagement falls in the white noise of wobble zone management and target transition
As Baal famously said in Diablo II, "I will take your position into consideration".

How long did they say for those of us that aren't 'special'?....

Retail orders shouldnt be much longer after I get mine. I know Zermatt told me they would send me mine when they were shipping to distributors so maybe a week or two after?

Just heard back from Benchmark and Lilja. They are both sending blanks over. We have a stacked deck and a LOT of ammo is going to get burned.

They will all be the following spec for an apples to apples comparison:

20" Finish Length
M24 Contour
1/2-28 Muzzle threads
My Custom Reamer
